Hey you surround me
like a blanket in my bed.
The look in your eyes has
stayed inside me in my head.
Outside its snowing its odd for
this time of year.
Your light through the darkness,
getting smaller oh i fear.
Yeah...

Love love pulled us down in the gutter.
Can you see us getting out oh i wonder.
Its a long long lonely fight down inside me.
Can I get you bring back light or is this never again.

Hey you’re my weakness
still my lover in my mind.
And you still control me
Summer i put you so high.
Hey did you forget you
could never get enough.
Well I'll always love you
no matter how far you run.
Yeah...

Love love pulled us down in the gutter.
Can you see us getting out oh i wonder.
Its a long long lonely fight down inside me.
Can I get you bring back light or is this never again.

There is a lover down inside all of our gates that we cant
protect forever cause he’s sucking out the air from our lips.
I felt him tremble when I first picked you up driving honey.
We drove for hours I remember when I first let him kiss.
You and your mouth the taste of love if filled me up to the tips.
I couldn't sleep for weeks fevered at a hundred and six.

You surround me
like a blanket in my bed.

Love love pulled us down in the gutter.
Can you see us getting out oh i wonder.
Its a long long lonely fight down inside me.
Can I get you bring back light or is this never again.

Love love pulled us down in the gutter.
Can you see us getting out oh i wonder.
Its a long long lonely fight down inside me.
Can I get you bring back light or is this never again.

second single off the album [Holes] i love this song a lot and i think it's about just the trials of love and how no matter how much you love someone it's crazy and difficult but still kinda happy and confusing [shown by the happy tune]. it's a really true reflection on love. and these guys sound like Mobile in this song but i still really love it =P

    My Interpretation

It's a song with a lot of energy but it's not a happy song, it has a lot of energy because the writer has put a lot of emotion into the song. The first verse is a metaphor for the way his relation ship is going with some one, it ends with "your light through the darkness, getting smaller o i fear" he sees that this person is drifting away from him. The rest of the song is about him slowly feeling worse and worse as this person whom he loves is slowly moving on and seems to be oblivious as to how they are making the writer feel.
The second verse is about how the person still has power over the writer and the writer feels that they always will and theres nothing they can do about it. "And you still control me... no matter how far you run" The third verse is about how the writer sees the other person meeting other people and its killing him to see this. Hes sing about how he watched the other person kiss some one and how he wishes that it was his lips that she was kissing, the verse then says that seeing her kiss some one else made him sick. The chorus talks about how this unrequited love is making him feel like hes in the gutter and its going to be a long fight back to normality or till hes able to feel happy again.

Both as a standalone and as part of the DSOTS album, you can take this lyric as read. As a matter of public record, Jourgensen's drug intake was legendary even in the 1980s. By the late 90s, in his own words, he was grappling with massive addiction issues and had lost almost everything: friends, spouse, money and had nearly died more than once. "Dark Side of the Spoon" is a both funny & sad title for an album made by a musical genius who was losing the plot; and this song is a message to his fans & friends saying he knows it. It's painful to listen to so I'm glad the "Keith Richards of industrial metals" wised up and cleaned up. Well done sir.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
