I've heard this song (& this album) two or three times now & it sounds gorgeous but I can honestly say I can't make out more than a dozen words in the whole thing! If you're going to go for an "explicit lyrics" sticker it seems only fair to make the words audible. A lot of content in here, not sure how much sense it will make to the average listener. Most people will have heard of Gilles de Rais: Tiffauges is one of his castles, Sille & Briqueville are his cousins & Prelati a fake alchemist from Italy. The idea is that children are being abducted & killed; partly for black magic rituals, partly for fun. I think the woman is supposed to be a glammed-up version of La Meffraye, an old woman who was used to lure children because they'd be more likely to go with a woman. It's all very dark & Gothic, but a bit out-of-date now. In 1992 Gilles de Rais was retried & found not guilty! He's now reckoned to be the victim of one of the biggest miscarriages of justice in history, effectively murdered by judges who had divided up his estates between them before he was even convicted. So - no dead kiddies, no satanic rites. Sorry...

Gilles might be counted as "not guilty" but its a great story still! And i don't think Dany made the whole album about Gilles de Rais while not being aware of that knowledge!! Also Dani used to use Gilles as a figure in his old songs like "lord abortion". Gilles is not someone he found recently. I think he had planning making an album about Gilles de Rais and his aim was to catch up the smell in "cruelty and the beast"... i found this album quiet successful by the way. The album is designed like telling us a tale song by song/chapter bu chapter. I think this is also one of Dani's genious ideas...
The latest I heard is that Gilles was proposed for canonization recently & unaccountably turned down... He has a Facebook page now, thanks to Cradle, so come argue with me!
loup-garou is French for Werewolf i believe.
The song is about Gilles "Wolves" who would kidnap children on the road, or from the outlaying villages around Tiffauges, so he could try and summon Barron, or some similar demon, and other miscellaneous demonic shenanigans
The Latin at the start is attributed to Cicero. Torture Garden is the name of an album by Naked City, John Zorn's avant-garde jazz/grindcore project. Golgotha was the hill on which Jesus was crucified.
