All those lines I've written, are they really true?
Are those scribbled lines, how I felt for you?
Emotions became lust when I tasted fame
I can't hold back, I'm just playing the game

I lied to my diary so I could forget
I still got the fire, but there's nothing to regret
I am what I am, and I'm never gonna change
So grab what you can get, before I'm out of range

Set it off, set it off
Don't need the words from a backseat driver
Set it off, set it off
Don't you tell me what's right!
Easy come and easy go
Another lie, after the show
Set it off, set if off

I've got a bad reputation, just from having fun
You're bound to get burned if you're uner my sun
It ain't hard when you're quite naive
Just some fast talk baby, then I'll ask you to leave

The lights out, and you're standing in my way
I want you for the hour, but I don't want you to stay
The backdoor's got a 'no entry' sign
Easy to get in, but when I'm done you're out

Set it off, set it off
Don't need the words from a backseat driver
Set it off, set it off
Don't you tell me what's right!
Easy come and easy go
Another lie, after the show
Set it off, set if off

Yea
Got a problem with this, punk?
Alright..

As she walked into the room, her appearance made her bloom
When the sun goes down, everything starts to fade again
But remember baby, beauty is a fragile thing

Every flower fades, I'm sorry baby!
But I'll find another garden, to pollute with all my lies

Set it off, set it off
Yea, yea, yea come on baby
Set it off, set it off
Oh!
Easy come and easy go
Another lie
Set it off, set if off
Easy come and easy go!

Set it off, set it off, set it off
Mm, mm, oh, oh!
Set it off, set it off, set it off
Oh!

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

When We Were Young
Blink-182
This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
