Final Conversation Lyrics

So
So tired
So tired of liars

you promised me you'd stay
and never leave again
i will go anywhere now
anywhere you might have been

so close tonight
please stay with me
and when it's over let me go
just stay here with me

free yourself
and cut away these ties
you can go anywhere now
be anyone you want to be

so close this time
please stay with me
and when it's over let me go

just stay tonight and never leave
cause in the morning we're going home
just stay here

the night could fall all over me
and when it's over just let me go
the night could fall all over me
cause in the morning we're going home

stay with me

One of my favourite songs off of the album - so good!!

As for the meaning, I'm thinking something about a relationship, classic song theme though it may be.

Can't wait to see them on October 16th in Brissy!!!

Zac.

i love this song, but here's just a little bit of info for you all....

i was wondering why the whole album seemed to be about breaking up, so i did a little research. i looked up the meaning of the latin phrase on the album cover. it means 'last argument of kings', and came from some famous war back in the day. the phrase represents when it can’t be sorted out any other way, the only way you can reach an end is to fight each other. its what happens when words no longer make a difference. i think that this gave me a fresh look at the album, and made me love it even more. hope it did the same for you!

t.b.e's biggest fan xoxo

I love this song!! and i think the meaning of it is all in the title, I think it might be a conversation going on between two people. I know at least that this album could also be read lyrically like a movie script, it's based on a whole bunch of characters, with a conflict based theme

I believe this song and the album for that matter is to do with the break up of the band, after hearing an interview on triple j with the members it all became clearer, the band was not happy with Clint's singing style anymore and wanted him out (don't ask me why I believe he is what makes them great), this was in stark contrast to what had been speculated in the media as all news surrounding hthey split was that Clint wanted to spend more time with Thousand needles in Red. After hearing the interview I went back to this album and realised majority of the songs are Clint having a bit of a go at the band and the way it was all handled, I think this song itself is the pinnacle piece to the whole band breakup story.
