I'm all alone on the road
High water tied underneath the flood
In desserts of dust if I must i will stand

These are my promises

I hope you're winning the war
Make everything like it's was before
All that we were we can still be again

I swear

I'm afraid you're gone

I don't want you
I don't want you to go
I've got the sun in my eyes
I didn't see you passing me buy
I just wanted you
I just wanted you to know

Inside of me forever you'll go

Now I just want to go home
Carried by all that was ever known
Held in these hands if I must I will stand

Given these promises

Now i've been running too long
These feet are too tired to carry on
Weighing us down if you're gone I will drown

I'm afraid you're gone

I don't want you
I don't want you to go
I've got the sun in my eyes
I didn't see you passing me buy
I just wanted you
I just wanted you to know

If forever exists
Inside me it where you belong
If forever exists

I've got the sun in my eyes
I didn't see you passing me by
Now i've been running too long
To carry on
I don't want you
I don't want you to go
I've got the sun in my eyes
I'm afraid you're gone
If forever exists
Inside me it where you belong

If forever exists

I'm not too sure what this song means, i think its about someone dying or going...the film clip for it is really good, and this song is just really really good!!

When I first heard this song I connected to it straight away...it's a beautiful and meaningful song...

I think it's about losing someone close to you like a boyfriend or girlfriend and suddenly realising that they're actually gone...but i agree with the above comment it could also suggest that somebody has died and they're film clip does suggest this...

I love The Butterfly Effect, and I think they are an Aussie Band with a huge amount of talent and great potentials.

I agree with kit kat with the fact that he has lost someone he loves, and the suddenly realising it, but the lines

"I've got the sun in my eyes I didn't see you passing me by"

They make me think hes in denial and refuses to believe that his loved one is gone, but by the end of the song, he finally comes to terms with it.

    "I'm afraid you're gone"

i just wanna start of with saying how much i love this song .. but anyway .. so 2 me the song is all about not being ready to say goodbye to somebody .. its like .. the dont want them to go (i dont want u 2 go) .. but there have .. (iv got the sun in my eyes, i didnt c u passing me by) and the person thats been left beind is scared (im afraid ur gone) .. cos they dont wanna be alone in the world by themself without that person .. then finally (if forever exist inside me is were u belong) they hav sorta come 2 terms with it .. and they realise although the person isnt with the pyhsically .. they with forever be with them mentally .. or in there heart .. whicheva u prefer ..

He loves someone and didn't realise what he had until now it's gone, and is alone and suddenly afraid now that he has come to terms. He would do anything to have what they once had back and feels he cannot go on without her. He wants her to know he will always love her.

You don't have to agree, and I'm not saying this IS the meaning, but this song means a lot to me, and that is what it means to me as that is exactly the situation I'm in. I did think it could suggest someone passing away, but I've never seen it that way because it reminds me so much of me and this guy.

Beautiful lyrics. Beautiful song. Beautiful band.

An absolutely incredible song. This is phenomenal. Aussie rock at its best. wow - every time i listen to this song, it sends shivers down my spine. It's a very tragic yet beautiful song. A song about facing the fact that you've lost a loved one.. yet they'll forever be inside of your heart. This is just such a powerful and impacting song, it is unforgettable. I love everything about this song - the way he sings it (i just love his voice in general - an amazing voice he is blessed with) I love the tune of this song, and the lyrics - EVERYTHING!! I hope people overseas can discover their amazing music. I must add, they are amazing live!! they're awesome. The lead singer really sings with raw emotion, straight from his heart. By the way, I think that this video clip is absolutely amazing, yet very sad. But it's beautiful. I love the look of the sky with the clouds and the rays of sunlight bursting through. The song and the video make me want to cry. It reminds you that life is so fragile and you can lose your loved one in an instant. Makes you appreciate your loved ones more and it makes you want to stop taking them for granted. Also, makes you cherish the small and simple moments shared with the one you love. Sorry, I just can't get over this song, lol. I have so many thoughts relating to it, lol. Love it sooo much

The song meaning is pretty obvious - the concepts of loss and how we deal with it are rife.

Great song and a great Aussie hard rock band. Saw them live at the Ekka this year, and loved it. Clint is a bit of a tool, but Glenn rocks the bass and back-up vocals!!!! They make awesome music.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
