I like this song. I think it's about a wasted oppurtunity. She could have gone done a path in which would have resulted in "everything" but instead she chose another and regrets it. It's kind of like a "how did I end up here" song.
i agree with CoolForevers comment. But i also think its about sleeping with a guy and thinking it would have lead to 'everything' (a relationship), because the line 'It hurts me when you call' could mean she wanted to be with him, but he just wanted to be friends, also the line 'it hurts when you say, That all my close friends hate me' this to me suggests that her friends didnt want her to do it, but she did anyway.
oh well, thats just my opinion
