Waste Myself Lyrics

Oh we could lie beneath the stars
Or watch a thousand passing cars
From the roof of this prison, yeah yeah

Oh we could make this moment ours
And I could hold you, touch your scars
I can't believe that I have you, yeah yeah

I said... you, I waste myself on you
You, I do anything for you
Yeah, waste myself on you, yeah yeah

Like a feather in a hurricane
That's sweeping through my brain
I can't seem to find hope in this situation, love
Oh, so I tremble like an earthquake
Your tears are heavy rain
They drown my soul in apathy
like a flood, love
Singing now

You, I waste myself on you
You, I do anything for you
Yeah, waste myself on you, yeah yeah

You set me on fire
Now we're walking on a wire baby, a wire baby
You set me on fire
Now we're walking on a wire baby, a wire baby

You, I waste myself on you
You, I do anything for you
Yeah, waste myself on you, yeah yeah

They are not all correct and I know that. Whatever corrections you may have please tell me so I can fix them. I just tried to transcribe them from this song on their myspace player.

But anyways, this is a really good song.

this song talks about him "wasting" himself on a girl and doing anything for her, but then she "set him on fire" meaning she did something that really killed their relationship. so now they're "walking on a wire" meaning that their relationship is hanging by a thread aka could break anytime.

at least that's what i interpret from this. it basically explains my situation right now haha.

Yeah, no problem MCSmate. gengen319, what you say really makes sense. It seems he still wants to be with her; therefore "wasting" himself on her, but he can't seem to find hope, which he in fact states. Anyways, I think I'm going through the same thing, haha. Hope it works out for you.

I think gengen319 and vampric pretty much nailed it on the head. It seems to me like their relationship is falling apart, and he still wants to be with her although he knows that it's just a waste. && this song also reminded me of Daphne Loves Derby's "Hopeless Love" at first. But I think they're different in that this song is more about a relationship falling apart, whereas "Hopeless Love" is about a relationship that never could be. Just thought I'd throw that out their since they're both awesome bands. :D Love this song, btw.

For the beginning of the song I’m reminded of a quote from House; “That’s what life is. It's a series of rooms and who we get stuck in those rooms with adds up to what our lives are.” Being “on the roof of a prison” as it’s put, it’s just a place, and what are you going to make of the situation of being on that roof? How about lie beneath the stars or watch a thousand passing cars with the one you’re in love with at that moment? Who cares what you’re doing, you’re both doing it together and making the most of it. I don’t think its necessarily a song where he’s been hurt as it is more of an idea of being so high on love, or in this case set on fire. “Set on fire” insinuates warmth. Love is warmth.
As for any other lines that normally sound like they’re talking about something bad (ex: I can’t seem to find hope in this situation, love) I think it just adds to the idea of being so high on love and not having a way out of it. You can’t help who you love, and can’t really get out of that predicament. The chorus is obvious. You’d give anything up for the person you love. Even if it meant dying.
