I think gengen319 and vampric pretty much nailed it on the head. It seems to me like their relationship is falling apart, and he still wants to be with her although he knows that it's just a waste.
&& this song also reminded me of Daphne Loves Derby's "Hopeless Love" at first. But I think they're different in that this song is more about a relationship falling apart, whereas "Hopeless Love" is about a relationship that never could be. Just thought I'd throw that out their since they're both awesome bands. :D
