Mary Ann's Place Lyrics
Here I sit at Mary Ann's place
Oh baby the rain is always pouring when I'm here
Saw the lightning caught your stone
Oh maybe the angels of tomorrow will let me go
Still the crying hurts in your head
Well you're still beneath my feet
Well oh God don't seems to follow
Hear my prayers until tomorrow's settlement
Side by side with Lucy's stone
You two are forever missing colours in my home
Do you think you can forgive
I know that your life has been a burden
A living hell
Still the crying hurts in your grave
We'll I'm still beneath you feet
Have you looked into the sky
Well oh God don't seem to mind
Will the fire burn the flower
Or the angels sing tomorrow, when I'm near
Oh baby the rain is always pouring when I'm here
Saw the lightning caught your stone
Oh maybe the angels of tomorrow will let me go
Well you're still beneath my feet
Well oh God don't seems to follow
Hear my prayers until tomorrow's settlement
You two are forever missing colours in my home
I know that your life has been a burden
A living hell
We'll I'm still beneath you feet
Have you looked into the sky
Well oh God don't seem to mind
Will the fire burn the flower
Or the angels sing tomorrow, when I'm near

This song continues the story of "Danny & Lucy," "Firesong," and "Mr. & Mrs Ness" from the two previous albums. Mary Ann is the late wife of Mr. Ness. Mr. Ness is sitting in jail for the murder of his wife, a murder he did not commit. When he gets out on parole, he visits the graves of his daughter Lucy and her mother Mary Ann, who now lie side by side.
He is mourning at the grave of two lost ones Lucy & Mary Ann
Very Beautifull song :D
I believe this song is another sequel to the "Danny & Lucy (11PM)"/"Mr. & Mrs. Ness" series of songs, about Mary Ann, a sister to Lucy or Mother, and the song (While Michael Pouslen is singing..) is from the perspective of the father/mother (Depending on WHO Mary Ann is exactly..) and when Pernille Rosendahl is singing, could be from the perspective of Lucy or Mother/etc.
You're right!! The song is the last song of a trilogy. First there was Danny & Lucy (11pm), from The Strength / The Sound / The Songs (2005) where Lucy left home with her boyfriend Danny, then ended up dying in a car accident.

Then on their next album, Rock the Rebel/Metal the Devil (2007). There came Mr.& Mrs. Ness. Where in the song, Lucy's mother could no longer handle the loss of her (most likely) oldest daughter. So she took her own life.

The trilogy then ends with Mary's Ann Place, off of Guitar Gangsters & Cadillac Blood (2008). Where it's the Father, who visit's his youngest daughter Mary Ann and they both still miss their sister/daughter and mother/wife. Then he visit's his daughter and wife's graves. He's trying to forgive his wife for taking her own life. While he's still grieving the loss of his first and oldest child Lucy.
To do this type of trilogy is actually pretty awesome! You'd have to be a die hard Volbeat fan to figure this all out. So I guess, I'm that type of fan! LOL!!
@CashMeIn I am not sure. In Danish, Mary Ann = Marianne?
