The French verb for "to rust" is "rouiller", not "roullIer", and it is pronounced rwee-ay, not roo-eer. I'm fairly certain the correct line in the song is "J'ai peur que je vais MOURIR ce soir", meaning "I'm afraid that I will die tonight."
it's my first time transcribing a song that's in french. any help with the words are welcome!
this album is truly amazing. someone needs to post the lyrics for undertow
I think "secher" should be "chercher" in line 7.
"I hope that you come look for me" (chercher) makes a lot more sense than "I hope that you come dry me" (secher).
No, "secher" is definitely right and makes total sense, because the first line of the song is actually "il pleut, il pleut" which means "it's raining".
i'll take a stab at this, but please don't freak out if it's wrong cause i'm not pretending to be excellent at french.
He cries, he cries I cry, I cry
I am afraid that I will be bound tonight
He cries, he cries, I cry, I cry
I'm afraid my time has expired, I hope that you will look for me I hope that you can repair me I'm afraid that (??????) tonight My heart...
The arc of the sky will change
It's definitely not perfect, but my french is limited. It's also based purely on what's written and if that's not correct, then I can't expect what I wrote to be any help, haha. But just to provide a little more insight into the lyrics. Anyone who can improve/fix my translation, please do!
Several of the lines in the (French) transcription are definitely wrong.
okay both the lines -"j'ai peur que vais lier ce coir" and -"j'ai peur que je vais vous ai ce soir" are actually: "j'ai peur que je vais roullier ce soir" (which means "i am afraid that i am going to rust tonight.") as for the translation, it's close! it goes more like this
It rains, It rains I cry, I cry,
I'm afraid that I am going to rust tonight,
It rains, It rains I cry, I cry
I'm afraid that my time has expired, I hope that you will dry me, I hope that you can repair me, I'm afraid that I will rust tonight, My heart,
Will change from the sky to the rainbow.
I'm not sure about that last line, but i know that "arc-au-ciel" means "rainbow!
i think i'd go with "rouiller", it makes sense with "the rain" and "dry me" (me secher).
I also changed the last line. "acier" means steel, so it's gotta be something about "a heart of steel"? we're getting closer, people :)
