After the Last Midtown Show Lyrics
It's a drunken midnight on the streets
Brightly dusted with a neon light
We duck behind the corner store
Smoke your smokes
While I keep a watchful eye
Right here, right now
I hope before the night is through
One fumbled touch will finally hit the spot
You've got everything going for you
So I'll go for you with everything I got
Right here, the best days of our lives
Is this coincidence, or a sign?
Is there anything I missed?
Is there anything I missed?
Tell me if I'm wrong
But why would we change a thing?
When the morning light fights through the cracks
Cascading across the bed and you are mine
When your parents start to wake for work
Between the sheets, keep a watchful eye
Right here, the best days of our lives
Is this coincidence, or a sign?
Is there anything I missed?
Is there anything I missed?
Tell me if I'm wrong
But why would we change it?
When we met I was on my back
I swear we spent most afternoons
Somewhere in the act
We were part of something ours
And ours alone
Anywhere was home
We're almost here again
When we met I was on my back
I swear we spent most afternoons
Somewhere in the act
We were part of something ours
And ours alone
Anywhere was home
We're almost here again
We're almost here again
We're almost here again
Right here, right now
Brightly dusted with a neon light
We duck behind the corner store
Smoke your smokes
While I keep a watchful eye
Right here, right now
One fumbled touch will finally hit the spot
You've got everything going for you
So I'll go for you with everything I got
Right here, the best days of our lives
Is this coincidence, or a sign?
Is there anything I missed?
Tell me if I'm wrong
But why would we change a thing?
Cascading across the bed and you are mine
When your parents start to wake for work
Between the sheets, keep a watchful eye
Right here, the best days of our lives
Is this coincidence, or a sign?
Is there anything I missed?
Tell me if I'm wrong

I swear we spent most afternoons

We're almost here again
We're almost here again
Right here, right now

"You've got everything going for you, so I'll go for you with everything I got." Beautiful!

It's totally a love song for Gabe Saporta. Totally.
its been confirmed that this song is about Gabe Saporta
This song obviously has a connection to 'Beware! Cougar!' from the lines "When we met I was on my back. I swear we spent most afternoons Somewhere in the act." Hmm.. It doesn't really seem that it's the same girl as in the other song though. There she's too old for him, and here he's keeping a watchful eye out for her parents. This seems to be just a simple and fun relationship with no worries, in contrast to the one i mentioned with the older woman. This one comes with no obligations. And he would like it to stay that way forever.
There may just be a connection from song to song on this record. I dont really know yet but i cant wait to find out first thing when it's released! This may lead over to the Summer Hair = Forever Young one.
William just realized he's growing older you people :)
i might be mistaken, but i thought it was 'after the last MIDTOWN show' ?
ahar... sorry about that. just a little mistake there.
Midton was Gabe Saporta's (Cobra Starship) old, amazing band. 100 times better than Cobra btw.
I think this song is possibly about connecting breaking up/losing someone to losing your favorite band.
The 'We're almost here again' part made me sad. I was such a big fan of Almost Here.
"A song about the only girl I’ve ever loved… A nervous night with her after the last midtown show" Said by Beckett. Clear and easy to understand.
And Midtown kicks Cobra's ass to the curb.
Best song on the album, for sure.
The end is definitely a throwback to their debut... "our time is almost... our time is almost here"
