Paparazzi Lyrics

We are the crowd
We're c-coming out
Got my flash on, it's true
Need that picture of you
It's so magical
We'd be so fantastico

Leather and jeans
Garage glamorous
Not sure what it means
But this photo of us
It don't have a price
Ready for those flashing lights
Because you know that baby, I . . .

I'm your biggest fan
I'll follow you until you love me
Papa, paparazzi
Baby there's no other superstar
You know that I'll be
Your papa, paparazzi
Promise I'll be kind
But I won't stop until that boy is mine
Baby you'll be famous
Chase you down until you love me
Papa, paparazzi

I'll be your girl
Backstage at your show
Velvet ropes and guitars
Yeah, because you're my rock star
In between the sets
Eyeliner and cigarettes

Shadow is burnt yellow
Dance and we turn
My lashes are dry
Purple teardrops I cry
It don't have a price
Loving you is cherry pie
Because you know that baby, I . . .

Real good, we dance in the studio
Snap, snap to that shit on the radio
Don't stop for anyone
We're plastic but we still have fun!

According to GaGa:

"Well I'm so glad there are a few different interpretations, that was the idea. The song is about a few different things — it's about my struggles, do I want fame or do I want love? It's also about wooing the paparazzi to fall in love with me. It's about the media whoring, if you will, watching ersatzes make fools of themselves to their station. It's a love song for the cameras, but it's also a love song about fame or love — can you have both, or can you only have one?"

To summarize: it's about stalking and being somebody's biggest fan, wanting attention, and becoming famous.

I really love this song, by the way. Probably my favourite GaGa song, and fun to dance to. :D

It's weird 'cause it's kinda stalkery yet there's something about it that's kinda sweet :)

i once read the song was going to be called stalkerazzi at first but she changed it for the mugshots/ art to paparazzi theme the Lindsay, Paris and Nichole all did for their muggys. =)

This is my favorite song by Lady Gaga, I can't get enough of it.

My Opinion

Its one of my favorites :)

I think it means she loves this guy so much she's telling him she's his 'biggest fan', and if he doesnt like her, she'll follow him 'until you love me', like a paparazzi. A photo of them together means more than anything to her, although she doesnt know the meaning of fame and possessions. :)

She wants to speed ahead with her career, so she advises, "Dont stop for anyone." She also says "we're plastic, but we'll still have fun." Models, musicians, and famous people have plastic (credit cards and riches) and they may be fake to...

If you watch the music video you'll understand the story of this song. Basically, her boyfriend is using her fame to climb to the top of the social ladder. He destroys her career (see when she is pushed off the balcony, her body lies limp and crushed, because her career is dead) and gets away with it. She then has to rebuild her career (learning to walk again) slowly but surely, and stages a comeback. In the end, she poisons her boyfriend and kills him, getting revenge for ruining her. She becomes a pop icon once more.

to make that last sentence more clear to the storyline: she becomes a pop icon once more because of her downfall after the murder of her boyfriend.

Good summary of the video, but the lyrics do not tell that story at all.

modelmaterial: That is a very good interpretation. Cool!

Doda: Most songs don't match their videos. The only video that I saw by Lady Gaga directly match the lyrical content is 'Alejandro'. She uses a LOT of symbolism and its hard to realize, but its there ;)

The meaning of the song isn't hard to decipher but the music video adds more depth to the song.

In an interview she said she wrote this song about when Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, and Nicole Richie's mugshots all came out and they all were posing in them and she realized that there's an art to the paparazzi.

Does the synth in this remind anyone else of "Take My Breath Away" by Berlin?

Yes! The chorus melody is quite similar to this Berlin song.

I think, like a lot of songs, the video and the song have similar, but separate meanings.

The video is the story of pop icon and her relationship with the Paparazzi, and the song is about an obsessed fan, and paparazzi, who is in love with a superstar.

@mikus-fikus

Hello? You didn't offer an interpretation either. Seriously though, what crawled up your cunt and died? So she doesn't like the song, boo-fucking-hoo, go cry somewhere else. The most amusing thing is that you jump down natholla's throat, but don't even bother with britrocker, the person who posted an angry, flaming comment.

xD i love online bitching.

I love this song :D

Well, watching the music video I think it may be talking about abuse, and how "she" will always love the "abuser" no matter what, even though he trys to kill her for fame. Like in the music video, it shows all these women killed by their spouses/boy friends. So I am guessing the message is about how ame kills people. And she needs more fame then ever to settle herself, and it's driving her insane, (the whole stalker sound part of it) and then people die over it (in the music video for instance)

Or, for a crazy interpretation, the whole song is sarcastic and she just wants to get back at him. (the music video again) For instance: "but I won't stop" sounds a bit darker the rest. And then the "Real good, we dance in the studio Snap, snap to that shit on the radio Don't stop for anyone We're plastic but we still have fun!" part is showing she doesn't care about him in fact at all just getting back at him, she is willing to live her life while trying to get at him.

I am not sure, just my interpretation :D Great song anyway you look at it!
