I used to be so warm hearted until
She started freezing my blood
That girl had intent to kill
But she is not cold enough

I used to have so many more friends
Till she started scaring all of them
Now that she's my ex
I don't ever want to see her again

Girl, I will forget you
Like I always do
Girl, I'll find someone new
Who looks nothing like you
Girl, I will forget you
Like you never wanted me to
Girl, I'll find someone new
That reminds me nothing of you

I used to have so many more friends
Till she started scaring them to death
Now that she's my ex
Guys, I want to be friends again

I got this funny feeling that
You don't think I'm really leaving well
I used to have so many more friends
And now I'm taking them back again

Girl, I will forget you
Like I always do
Girl, I'll find someone new
Who looks nothing like you
Girl, I will forget you
Like you never wanted me to
Girl, I'll find someone new
That reminds me nothing of you

When you hear me on your radio tell them
"He wrote this for me,
Ex-boyfriend on my stereo,
No, that boy went crazy"

I'll forget that you ever lived
And I'll forget that you ever existed
And girl you'd better hope my new girlfriend
Never finds out what you did

Um, I wanted you to know that, err

Girl, I will forget you
Like I always do
Girl, I'll find someone new
Who looks nothing like you
If my new girlfriend finds out what you said
You're fucking dead
Girl, I'll find someone new
That reminds me nothing of you

When you hear me on your radio, well tell them
"He wrote this for me,
Ex-boyfriend on my stereo,
No, that boy went crazy"

I'll forget that you ever lived
And I'll forget that you ever existed
And girl you'd better hope my new girlfriend
Never finds out what you did

Girl you'd better hope my new girlfriend
Never finds out what you did

    My Interpretation

Basically he used to be really friendly, popular, charismatic etc “warm hearted” but when he got this girlfriend, she caused him to withdraw from all that “started freezing my blood”. He now believes (either genuinely or just out of spite) that it was her intent to separate him from his friends and social life so that she could have him to herself “that girl had intent to kill” — referring to his other relationships. He then says that it didn’t work, because “she is not cold enough” or possibly strong enough to severe those ties.

I used to be so warm hearted until She started freezing my blood That girl had intent to kill But she is not cold enough

This bit’s self explanatory, he used to have heaps of friends, but the intense relationship between him and this girl started fazing them out. Possibly she was a bit weird, since he says “scaring all of them”, which could ether mean she was creeping them out, or literally trying to scare them away from him/their relationship. He then states that now he’s done with her, he never wants to see her, and we can assume that’s because he’s realised how she’s been damaging to his other relationships.

I used to have so many more friends Till she started scaring all of them Now that she's my ex I don't ever want to see her again

Again, pretty self explanatory, he says that he’ll forget about her. The chorus seems very bitter, possibly he’s alluding to the fact that she tried to make him forget everyone else, and so he’s turning the tables on her.

Girl, I will forget you Like I always do Girl, I'll find someone new Who looks nothing like you Girl, I will forget you Like you never wanted me to Girl, I'll find someone new That reminds me nothing of you

Almost the same as before, but here he addresses his friends directly. It seems pretty bad to me, like he’s been hanging out with this chick, doesn’t want her anymore and is all like “Guys, I want to be friends again [you know, now I’ve finished ditching you]”

I used to have so many more friends Till she started scaring them to death Now that she's my ex Guys, I want to be friends again

He feels that she thinks he’s only bluffing, and can’t believe he’d choose his friends over her, but he insists she’s not even worth a second thought on the matter. The last line “and now I’m taking them back” seems like he’s taking them back from her, because she took them off him and put them away out of site, so now he’s saying he’s just gonna take back what is his.

I got this funny feeling that You don't think I'm really leaving well I used to have so many more friends And now I'm taking them back again

Girl, I will forget you Like I always do Girl, I'll find someone new Who looks nothing like you Girl, I will forget you Like you never wanted me to Girl, I'll find someone new That reminds me nothing of you

That when she’s with her friends she’ll not only claim the connection to him “he wrote this for me, ex-boyfriend on my stereo” but deny that it was her fault, claiming “that boy went crazy”. The way she says “ex-boyfriend on MY stereo” shows how possessive she was in the relationship, and how this has influenced his opinion of her to the point where he sees her as claiming everything for herself.

When you hear me on your radio tell them "He wrote this for me, Ex-boyfriend on my stereo, No, that boy went crazy"

Same old, but with a twist. In this bit the story progresses, he for the first time out right blames her “what you did”. He also, in that cocky, delicious, Wez way of his, states that he will have a new girlfriend, and she will care enough for him to hate his ex for (possibly?) hurting him, or wronging him. Either that, or he doesn’t want his new girl finding out his vulnerabilities or whatever.

I'll forget that you ever lived And I'll forget that you ever existed And girl you'd better hope my new girlfriend Never finds out what you did

More of that delicious, spiteful, biting, taunting, Wez sarcasm

Um, I wanted you to know that, err

Same old, but again with the mention of her doing something wrong and the new girl who will replace her not digging it. His tone gets harsher, “you’re fucking dead” and it changes from “Never finds out what you did” to “finds out what you said” which increases the likeliness he feels she did a number of things wrong.

Girl, I will forget you Like I always do Girl, I'll find someone new Who looks nothing like you If my new girlfriend finds out what you said You're fucking dead Girl, I'll find someone new That reminds me nothing of you

When you hear me on your radio, well tell them "He wrote this for me, Ex-boyfriend on my stereo, No, that boy went crazy"

I'll forget that you ever lived And I'll forget that you ever existed And girl you'd better hope my new girlfriend Never finds out what you did

Girl you'd better hope my new girlfriend Never finds out what you did

So basically this song is about a girl that he will never forget, but who he obviously loathes for what she did to him. He’s telling her can replace her easily enough, with old friends and new girlfriends, and implying that she should never forget what she did to him, he leaves and unsaid threat in the air so that she will remain cautious of the consequences. The beginning of the song is him all “I’m leaving, I’m getting my life back, you won’t stop me” but by the end it’s all about her, how she’s going to feel, and how he wants her to feel. I’m guessing it’s a break up that meant a lot to him, but now the girl doesn’t mean anything, so he’s going to forget her, but the way he repeats this throughout the song shows how he’s contradicting himself, and basically just trying to spite her.

    Just some ideas I had

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
