January 19th Lyrics

i heard it from my father
my ears can barely believe
said son, 'i just opened the letter
and she's got your eyes, can't you see?'

but you've got my hands to hold
you've got my arms when the world gets too cold
wherever in life you wanna go
you've got my hands

what could mean more than this?
you gave me a reason to live
you are my four leaf clover
and if heaven could exist

this is it, i'm alive
and i'm living for somebody else now
and, if i'm away, i want you to know
i will be there when the storm gets too close

but you've got my hands to hold
you've got my arms when the world gets too cold
wherever in life you wanna go
you've got my hands

Lily, when you wake up
after all your dreams stop
close your eyes and save them for the day i'm coming home
i'll keep you safe forever
you know that i will never let you go

but you've got my hands to hold
you've got my arms when the world gets too cold
wherever in life you wanna go
you've got my hands

but you've got my hands to hold
you've got my arms when the world gets too cold
wherever in life you wanna go
you've got my hands

you've got my hands to hold x4

It definitely sounds like he's saying Milly so it'd be a safe bet to assume that's what he's saying

Wow, now that I really look at the lyrics, it makes so much sense for it to be about his daughter. "This is it, I'm alive. And I'm living for somebody else now" AWWWW!!! So sweet =]

okay so i'm gonna go for it. i think he got some girl pregnant but it didn't work out. when the baby was born, she sent pictures and stuff to him and his dad, his dad called him about it. his dad telling him that she has his eyes is the segway to him explaining his devotion to his daughter, which is definitely lily, not milly.

It's about Caleb's daughter. Him being there for her and all that. January 19th is the day she was born.

This song is about his daughter Lily, born on January 19th, as people earlier discussed. The mother of Lily is Kerri, the original singer in 1997. I'm pretty sure she got pregnant so she had to leave the band. I don't know if they broke up for a bit, but they are back together now and have a little musical side project for fun called simply "kerri and caleb" Its pretty adorable.

Its about his Daughter Lily who was conceived on January 19th. not born.

i'm not sure what he's saying in that one line: "milly? when you wake up"...i'm guessing he's talking about a girl named milly. but i really have no idea.
