I Just Want You To Know Lyrics

Alright,

I'm a human being
A being
Happy and sane
Oh but human beings
We all need to quit
Being inhumane

[Chorus]
Yea I don't want to say I'm right
I just want you to know
I don't want to say I'm right
I just want you to know

I've a reputation
For replacing
My confidence with fear
But I'll be untiringly embracing
The love that I have found to be sincere

[Chorus]

To know that there was a man
Who lived one day
With holes in his hands
As some do say
And I believe we'd be friends
If we talked and prayed
So we do
That's right we do

[Chorus: x2]

I just want you to know
I just want you to know

A simply amazing statement: he just want to tell you about jesus, he doesn't claim to be right, he just want you to know

great message, but not their best work.

I really like the first verse... but after that, it's not a strong message. There is a message, but... I don't know. They've done better. But it's a good song overall.

Whoa- The comments for this song are kind of sad; let's change that.

I really like this song, the tune is really catchy and the lyrics are simple and quirky, yet still meaningful and easy to relate to. They could have complicated the lyrics a lot more, but I love how simple and easy to understand they are. It would have taken away from the song if they had made it into a "bigger" song because that is what the whole song is about, just simply stating that they want you to know God exists. I really especially love the part where it says:

To know that there was a man who lived one day With holes in his hands As some do say And I believe we'd be friends if we talked and prayed

I believe so many of the people I know and I would be friends if we talked and prayed. I love how plain and simple he says it.

To me, it's about how he has been arguing with someone about God existing, but he doesn't want to just come out and say that he is right because he knows that it won't get them anywhere. He is tired of them both trying to insist that they are right so he is putting up a kind of white flag in their war of faith. He is saying that he just wants the person to know that God is out there and loves him, he doesn't care if he wins the argument or not. Its meaning reminds me of "From End To End."

It's too bad the song is so short!

P.S. Sorry for using the word 'simple' so much!

I honestly don't understand the negativity about this song. To me, it's a quirky song about a deep subject: sharing Jesus without fear. It talks about how difficult it can be to build the confidence to share Jesus, and how it'd just be so much easier if everyone just knew the truth and we didn't have to do any work to share it. But that's not the case.

"I don't want to say I'm right, I just want you to know."
