I Found Away Lyrics

Storming through the dark with a broken heart
All alone at it once again
Seeping in like a feeling
You haven't felt since way back when
In the dead of that night
Like the summer of Sam
I got word of the promotion
You caused me a telegram
And got all worked up
We got all worked up

[Chorus: ]
I found a way
Through the fear and through the flames
I'm diving in, don't follow me
Stay right here, I'll be back for you someday
I found a way
It'd be best if you just stayed
It's not safe, don't follow me
I found a way
I found a way

Frozen in the lights of a locomotive
Tied to the tracks again
You said you haven't felt this comatose
Since you can't remember when
Fly off the handle every time
We sleep straight off with it

[Chorus: ]

Oh whoa
Oh whoa

From the top of my lungs
The truth shall be sung
Sharp and damning
Violently stabbing at secrecy
That look on your face
It's more than I can take
It scaring the living hell shit out of me

[Chorus: ]

I found a way
I found a way

I love this song, to me it feels that maybe its about being broken hearted and finding a way around it, makes me feel better =]

Honestly I believe the song is about Dante Alichieri. He was an Italian poet who wrote Dante's Inferno (The Divine Comedy). At the beginning of the song is a passage from the poem, the passage is from the very beginning where Dante find's himself in the Dark Wood of Error. Dante eventually takes an immortal journey through Hell, even though he is still alive. The voyage is made possible by God with the intercession of Beatrice, a women, now residing in heaven after her early death, whom Dante loved. Her concern for Dante's lost state of mind leads her to ask Virgil, a poet of ancient Rome, to lead him back to goodness of spirt by going through Hell and relinquishing his sins.

P.S. The beginning passage is wrong. It isn't entirely wrong because it has many different interpertations but he correct passage in the song is as follows:

Midway on our life's journey I found myself in the dark woods The right way lost To tell about those woods is hard So tangled and rough And savage that thinking of it now I feel the old fear stirring

From the top of my lungs The ** shall be sung

The missing word is truth. The other one sounds like "I cowered, oh, the commotion" or something like that. o_O

"I caught word of the commotion" I think is correct

The "infernal reading on track 5" is a reading of Canto I of The Inferno by Dante.

This particular translation is that of Robert Pinsky:

this song is awesome my favorite on the cd so far

Its supposed to be I found away, Alkaline trio likes to use plays on words (good mourning etc) so they want it to sound like I found a way but they're meaning it like they're getting away. Also like most of their songs, its using one thing as a metaphor for troubled relationships etc. in this case they're using dantes inferno

this song definately isn't failed relationships, haha. Matt took up transcending meditation(?)(I totally fuckin butchered that) so hes using dantes inferno to talk about his personal trip to hell and back, and how hes "Found Away." He can escape it now, so to speak
