She takes her time with the little things
Love notes reminding me (reminding me)
She wears red when she's feeling hot (so hot)
I have her but it's all I got
She looks best without her clothes
I know it's wrong but it's the way it goes
I don't know what she sees in me (she looking at me)
But I'm happy that she's happy now that she's with me
And I'm freaking out because I'm just so lucky

Oh she makes me feel like shit (it's always something)
But I can't get over it (she thinks it's nothing)
'Cause shes everything I ask for
Everything I ask for
And just a little bit more
Everything I ask for
Everything I ask for and so much more

She loves music but she hates my band
Loves Prince, she's his biggest fan
Not big on holding hands
But that's alright 'cause I still got her
She keeps up on current affairs
Prada is what she wears
I don't know what she sees in me (sees in me)
But I'm happy that she's happy now that she's with me
And I'm freaking out because I'm just so lucky

Oh she makes me feel like shit (it's always something)
But I can't get over it (she thinks it's nothing)
'Cause shes everything I ask for
Everything I ask for
And just a little bit more
Everything I ask for
Everything I ask for and so much more

Fist fights turn into sex
I wonder what comes next
She loves to always keeps me guessin' (guessin')
And she (she) won't (won't) give it up
And we (we) won't (won't), no
it's because...

Oh she makes me feel like shit (it's always something)
But I can't get over it (she thinks it's nothing)
'Cause shes everything I ask for
Everything I ask for
And just a little bit more
Everything I ask for
Everything I ask for (oh she's a little bit more)
Just a little bit more
Everything I ask for
Everything I ask for (whoa)
So much more
Everything I ask for
Everything I ask for and so much more

I think it's "She looks best without her clothes. I know it's wrong but that's the way it goes."

It's pretty obvious what this song is about. This "girl" is antagonistic, spoiled, outspoken, and pretty crazy, but he absolutely adores her no matter what type of person she is.

This song is so good, its like she is everything he could imagine and he cant beleive he has got a hold of a relationship like this. She may treat him like dirt at times and they argue but he can see past all this. He seems phased he has got this girl and it gives his a new rush, doesnt know what will occur next. At some points he seemed so superfical, how he comments on her clothes and her body, but picking up on the little things she likes and the fact they are not in common with him proves the relationship has some depth. It proves the fact two people may seem like opposites on the surface but something within them creates a connection which makes them say "everything i ask" and not just that, to the extent that they are dissimilar it creates a bond that is "so much more".

I still dont understand how these guys arent bigger than what they are, there songs have so much more to look into than the mainstream stuff everything thinks they can all relate to.

So this reminds me of the way I was with my boyfriend..then we broke up..and got back together and now the bitch is the way I was..anywho..the girl loves the boy in her own way, and the boy knows so that's why he puts up with her games. Well at least that's what I'm getting.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
