Marked for demolition, I'm
Just a time bomb ticking inside
No hope for the hopeless,
I can see the pieces all laid out in front of me

No point even asking why
Couldn't help even if you tried
Step aside or you might just be the next contestant
To feel the Brutality!

Devastation, Obliteration
Are all to the point of Exacerbation
There's no explaining my situation now,
Why does this shit keep happening to me?

I've held on too long just to let it go now,
Will my inner strength get me through it some how
Defying the curse that has taken hold
Never surrender,
I'll never be overcome!

Too dark for forgiveness, I
Can't seem to do anything right
When I try to rebuild I see my humble shelter
Just fall to the ground again

Object to the evil eye
No point to let anyone try
Take heed my friend lest you be torn asunder
Like all that's become of me

Decimation, Disintegration
Now beyond the point of imagination,
There's no explaining my situation now
Why does this shit keep happening to me?

I've held on too long just to let it go now,
Will my inner strength get me through it some how
Defying the curse that has taken hold
Never surrender,
I'll never be overcome!

I've held on too long just to let it go now,
Will my inner strength get me through it some how
Defying the curse that has taken hold
Never surrender,
I'll never be overcome!

I've held on too long just to let it go now, (Will my inner strength)
Will my inner strength get me through it some how (Defying the curse)
Defying the curse that has taken hold
Never surrender,
I'll never be overcome!

It sounds like the guy leaves a wake of destruction and is afraid for the people around him. He also sees that this destruction has become a part of him and even though he wants to let it go its hard to change who he is. Despite the difficulty however he continues to try to change, refusing to surrender. The curse is an aspect of himself that he cant seem to get rid of.

According to David Draiman, God loves to have fun with him. It's pretty much all the crap he has gone through in the last couple of years. This song is pretty much meant to be an inspiration to anyone who has gone through a lot in life, to tell yourself that you can overcome anything you if you just keep on going.

Some lyrics corrections, the first line is "Marked for Demolition", then i think it's "Devastation, Obliteration, are all in a part of Exacerbation" The second verse should be "To Dark for Forgiveness, I, Can't seem to do anything right, When I try to rebuild, I see my humble shelter just fall to the ground again. Object to the evil, I, No point to let anyone try Take heed my friend Lest you be torn asunder like all that’s become of me" "Decimation, Disintegration, all being apart of imagination"

I'm thinking it's about a person, who's struggling through constant hardship. But it sounds as if this person is not going down without a fight. I hope he/she obliterates 'The Curse'.

It's like a take from my life, and I'm sure many others.

    Song Meaning

In an interveiw with daved, he said what this song was acually about. One day, he was riding his motercycle when he rounded a turn and was hit by a car. He wasnt seriously hurt, but his bike was totaled. He got it fixed, and when he drove home from his friends, he parked his bike in the garage, and headed inside. A couple minutes later, his garage was in flames. H?e wrote the song about everything that was going wrong.

I feel that this song is about a guy who is gone through alot of relationships and no matter what he does they always end. Though he asks "Why does this shit keep happening to me?" he still keeps trying, no matter what is happening to him, to make it work, as the chorus suggests. All of the verses point to the amount of pain he is in and how it is destroying him. He even goes so far as to say a tormentor is keeping him from suceeding "Object of an evil eye". It seems like he really loves the person he is fighting for and he will continue to fight untill the end be it his (because of how badly he describes the state he is in) or untill he can stay with the girl he love. The Curse is probably refering to another guy that is trying to take away the girl he is trying so hard for.

Sounds like just a guy that doesn't like who he's become and recognizes the need to change.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
