It sounds like someone that he cared about hurt him and hes horrified by their aparent satisfaction with his pain, it also sounds like there was a third party involved, almost like another guy competing for the same girl. also i think he feels torn inside between his feelings for the person and his rationality saying that they dont care for him and the indecision is paralyzing so hes just going to let the feeling bleed him untill it fades.

It sounds like he's dealing with someone that he loves and respects a great deal but who shows him disdain in return, someone that takes joy in feeding off of the energy of others. He doesn't want to fight this person, he doesn't want to have to defend himself from this person, but circumstances have made it necessary. He's too conflicted to simply turn away or retaliate so he focuses on sustaining the fire within him as long as he can (alongside the others who are being exploited).

I must say, this is a great song. Theres a lot of meaning behind it and it is beautifully put together.

I think it's about having intense feelings for someone, could be a friend, boyfriend, girlfriend, whatever. You think and hope the feelings are gone because of all the shit and the pain they've put you through. This person might not necessarily enjoy the pain they inflict upon you, maybe they're just oblivious to it, but regardless it's still painful. So you hope and pretend these unrequited emotions are gone, but something happens that makes you realize those feelings have not left you, which only increases your pain...

I think this song kinda works well with the relationship I have with a friend. We both developed really strong feelings for eachother but entered the dreaded 'Friend Zone' where she insists we be "just friends". Now there is this "fire inside" and we are going to "let it burn till the image fades away". And "I'm not the only one, yearning to fulfill you, one willing to risk it all..." She has found someone else.

Its what the song means to me anyways. The whole song doesn't fit for it but I think its in the right direction.
