No one dropped of waiting in despair
Every time I go there's no one there
So tell me where's the soul, oh! where's the soul
Submit it's all locked up, so hard to loose control

I started nothing I wish I didn't
I started nothing I wish I didn't
I started nothing I wish I didn't
I started nothing I wish I didn't

Wait on a new, gonna bet on 1 today
How it's only all of us, if and buts falling dead
Tell me where's the soul, oh! Where's the soul
If it's been a whole day it's time to let it go

I started nothing I wish I didn't
I started nothing I wish I didn't
I started nothing I wish I didn't
I started nothing I wish I didn't

Now, often we keep givin' in with what they say
We're too open when we're only shown 1 way
And with the offer open opportunity to do
To make a mighty step no insoles in my shoes

I started nothing I wish I didn't
I started nothing I wish I didn't
I started nothing I wish I didn't
I started nothing I wish I didn't

Water's cold, ice is just a face skin deep
All you know, ice is just a face skin deep
Water's cold, ice is just a face skin deep
All you know, ice is just a face skin deep
Water's cold, ice is just a face skin deep
All you know, ice is just a face skin deep

Cool, first one to comment on this "song". Perfect way to say that this song SUCKS ASS (along with Traffic Light).

It's obvious that those two songs were put on the album, due to a lack in creativity. Total filler, duds, call it what you like. They were clearly pressured to release an album, rather than to spend some more time coming up with better tunes.

The rest of the album is excellent though!

I DO LIKE THIS. I find the riff quite soothing. It sounds like a downward spiral, you know the moment when things start going bad and you just go along with it.

I don't know why I find THAT soothing. But anyway,

I thought they were singing "I started nothing, I shot Lennon". I like the song. I don't think they would have named the album "We Started Nothing" if they thought the song was a throw away - filler.

Ministry
Both as a standalone and as part of the DSOTS album, you can take this lyric as read. As a matter of public record, Jourgensen's drug intake was legendary even in the 1980s. By the late 90s, in his own words, he was grappling with massive addiction issues and had lost almost everything: friends, spouse, money and had nearly died more than once. "Dark Side of the Spoon" is a both funny & sad title for an album made by a musical genius who was losing the plot; and this song is a message to his fans & friends saying he knows it. It's painful to listen to so I'm glad the "Keith Richards of industrial metals" wised up and cleaned up. Well done sir.

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
