So is this what you really wanted?
What you really wanted?
Are you sure? Are you sure?

I've found a way of getting close to you
So you don't have control anymore
And I'll make you weak by getting close to you
Don't fight it, I've already won

Ask me why I'm doing this to you
And I'll just keep saying what you want to hear
And tell me that, that this is what you want
And I'll just keep saying what you want to hear

I'll whisper things you know you like to hear
So softly that you buy into it
And I know what it is you really want to hear
I'll use it against you now

Ask me why I'm doing this to you
And I'll just keep saying what you want to hear
And tell me that, that this is what you want
And I'll just keep saying what you want to hear

You make it so, so easy to get my way
Ask me why I'm doing this to you
And I'll just say what you want to hear

'Cause I know what it is that you really want to hear
'Cause I know what it is that you really want to hear
'Cause I know what it is that you really want to hear
'Cause I know what it is that you really want to hear

Ask me why I'm doing this to you
I'll just keep saying what you want to hear
Tell me that this is what you want
I'll just keep saying what you want to hear

    My Opinion

hey^^! i think it’s about how this person (‘you’) has been controlling him (‘I’/Ryan), and all he ever does is please the other person: “I’ll keep saying what you want to hear”

and Ryan wants to get back. How: this song doesn’t exactly say it. but in the process, he is being non-suspicious about it, as he is still ‘sucking up’ to that person:

“I’ve found a way of getting close to you So you don’t have control anymore And I’ll make you weak by getting close to you

And I know what it is you really want to hear I’ll use it against you now”

It tells that he is acting not any different from how he has been all along.

“Don’t fight it” can mean “Don’t be suspicious” as:

“I’ve already won I’ll whisper things you know you like to hear So softly that you buy into it You make it so easy to get my way”

aka, his plan is already in motion, and he’s not acting strangely in the slightest.

“So is this what you really wanted? What you really wanted? Are you sure?”

is probably to warn/threat the one controlling him, because the more Ryan is doing what the other wants, and the “closer” he gets, the more effective Ryan’s plan of getting back is.

so “Tell me that this is what you want” might be to spur Ryan to keep going with the plan of seeking vengeance for himself.

Moreover, the way he sings “are you sure?” is kind of menacing, which goes with the whole warning/threatening theory. And throughout the song, he sounds pretty desperate.

Plus, this can all be linked to the title: If I Could Be Frank, You’re Ugly!

in relation to the song’s lyrics, it can be translated to: If I Could Have a Say, I Hate You! and I say this because it’s clear that Ryan always has to please the person with words that only the person wants to hear, but not necessarily the words that Ryan wants to say. therefore, it is possible that he does not agree with what the other person wants to hear from him. so he may even hate the other fella, and say he’s “ugly”

    hehe :D

    Song Meaning

i mean its pretty obvious to me. this is what I think it means cos i feel like i can relate I think its about a relationship and mistreating the girl and she asking why are you doing this to me and he's just telling her things she wants to hear because he knows how to get to her to get what he wants .

and in the beginning he's like are you sure you're ready to hear this the truth. soo yeah

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
