Russian Roulette Lyrics

It's Russian roulette
With no luck
You can kiss it good-bye
There's no such thing as sympathy
When the disease is entering
At first glance your instinct says
This stranger is a little dangerous
The cat was killed from curious thrills
Now Christ has left the manger

The taste is so divine (So divine)
A chemical coma life (coma life)
Welcome to your vice
Good luck with life
Cause you can't, you can't, you can't
Kill me that easily

It's so nice to meet you
It's so nice to know you
Now that your guards down
Let me show you
Superior rights from initial highs
Have now come back to haunt you
Your cravings beg
The stranger's hands for a taste that's so familiar

The taste is so divine (So divine)
A chemical coma life (coma life)

Welcome to your vice
Good luck with life
Cause you can't, you can't, you can't
Kill me that easily

What will you decide?
When you're out of time
Cause you can't, you can't, you can't
Kill me that easily

The battle you picked was so one sided
Now dependant on me
The one you invited
Beg, plead, scream
For redemption, for forgiveness
Beg, plead, scream
Sorry I'm not listening

Welcome to your vice
Good luck with life
Cause you can't, you can't, you can't
Kill me that easily

What will you decide?
When you?re out of time
Cause you can't, you can't, you can't
Kill me that easily

I think I have the Christ has the left the manger part down. I know people who keep asking what that means. So I've just spent time listening to the song, and just thinking about what it could me. So here we go:

I'm pretty sure that this song also has to do with worshiping drugs. Always wanting more, spending all your money on them, always wanting. Same with Christ. Christians, worship him and always ask for more of him, give offering, and always seem to get that spiritual high. Which is a good thing in the religion it self. So Basically, as soon as Christ left the manger, he then went out, preached, and called himself the Son of God. As to say. So, people or drug dealers, or instigators of the drugs. Go around, and sell, or give a sample of this "Chemical Christ". They, then find those people who will take this drug, and use it.

Hopefully anyone else who was wondering what that meant, can use my interpretation to help answer your questions. If I'm wrong, don't bash on me, just tell your ways.

Woah, pretty dope interpretation of what that means! Can't say much more except that once you leave infancy, you're on your way to death. Even jesus couldn't escape it. Sux. But 'tis true.

Actually the last verse is:

That battle you picked was so one-sided Now dependent on me, the one you invited Beg, please, scream for redemption, for forgiveness Beg, plead, scream, sorry I'm not listening

I think the last verse there is wrong...I think it's :

"The battle you picked was so one-sided Now, pin it on either one you invited For redemption, for forgiveness Sorry I’m not listening"

"The battle you picked was so one-sided. Now to pin it on me, the one you invited. For redemption, for forgiveness; Sorry, I’m not listening."

I know this is a very common interpretation for a song, but I believe this song to be about drug addiction.

"it's russian roulette with no luck you can kiss it goodbye there's no such thing as sympathy" Jesse is saying that doing drugs is like a game of russian roulette. A game you cannot win.

"at first glance your instinct says this strangers a little dangerous the cat was killed from curious thrills now christ has left the manger" This verse is about the addict's trust of strangers, aand how it could get him into serious trouble.

The chorus is, to me, a person telling the addict he has a problem, and letting the addict know that he is watching out for him, and won't go away that easily.

"That battle you picked was so one-sided Now dependent on me, the one you invited Beg, please, scream for redemption, for forgiveness Beg, plead, scream, sorry I'm not listening" The addict fought the person trying to help him, but is now on a downward spiral, and dependent on his helper, but it's too late, the helper has given up.

Sorry for the long-winded explanation, just thought I'd throw in my two-cents about such an awesome song.

Blackjack has the last verse correct.

I think the chorus is actually the drug talking to the addict. The fact that "you can't kill me that easily," makes it seem like the drug is taunting the user. Also, the last verse is written in first-person from the drug's point-of-view. More taunting.

"at first glance your instinct says/ this strangers a little dangerous/ the cat was killed from curious thrills..."

I think the "stranger" in this verse isn't actually referring to strangers, but to the actual drug. Because before you're addicted to a drug, you try it for the first time. Just like meeting a new person, the drug is a stranger to you.

And at first glance most people do see drugs as dangerous, but only after they've been persuaded to try it do they let their guard down... There's even a reference to that in the song.

I agree, addiction talking to the addicted.
