I could say that I'll always be here for you,
But that would be a lie and quite a pointless thing to do,
I could says that I'll always have feelings for you
But I've got a life ahead of me, I'm only twenty two,

Since you've gone I've lost a chip on my shoulder,
Since you've gone I feel like I've gotten older,
And now you've gone it feels as if the whole wide world is my stage
And now you've gone it's like I've been let out of my cage,

You always made it clear that you hated my friends,
You made me feel so guilty when I was running around with them,
And everything was always about being cool,
And now I've come to realize there's nothing cool about you at all,

Since you've gone I've lost a chip on my shoulder,
Since you've gone I feel like I've gotten older,
And now you've gone it feels as if the whole wide world is my stage
And now you've gone it's like I've been let out of my cage,

Since you've gone I've lost a chip on my shoulder,
Since you've gone I feel like I've gotten older,
And now you've gone it feels as if the whole wide world is my stage
And now you've gone it's like I've been let out of my cage,

i love this song. and it could be taken many ways. most of you believe a break up she didnt care about you. but i think it could be about anyone. for instance this song reminds me of my ex best friend. when she says "the whole world is my stage" i think of it more as she has to pretend.

about a guy that she was dating and she knew that it wouldn't last for long. she was not under any sort of fantasy that they would be together forever or anything. and after they're done she realises all of the negativity that he had put on her. and how much better she is without him.

btw, i love how she's exploring Electronica but i just kind of wish that she would leave some songs a little more organic. the piano at the start sounded so good but the electronic-ness of the track just completed drowned that out. when she could have just used it to complement the piano. Oh well. its still great :)

This song is really easy to understand actually, and I love it! I imagine she's been through a break up, and the guy was pretty wrong for her, but she cares about him. He cared for her, and he helped keep her in balance and "caged." Since he's gone, she feels the freedom that she once longed for, but now none of it feels right.

i knew a guy like this song describes once. except it was sorta backwards, i was head over heels for him and he didnt even care about me. but the way she feels after hes gone is the same way i felt. and i agree with dustybreeze, i love her new sound but i miss stuff thats like her old stuff, and is more natural. good though.

I love this song, it's about breaking free from a relationship, looking back on it and realising you weren't so happy together afterall. I can really relate to this, I was heartbroken when my last relationship failed, I thought I'd never get over him but months down the line, I looked back and saw how unhappy I'd actually been with my ex boyfriend, he was such a negative person to date but I couldn't see it at the time. Now I feel so free. This song is just about coming into your own and seeing that there's so much more to live for.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
