Prescription Lyrics

[Jimmy, L:] Doctor
[Jimmy, R:] Patient

I'm the doctor, I'm the patient
Don't forget that, it's important
If ya love me, like I love me
Everybody will be sorry

Well I don't need nothin' before the show
I don't need nothin', well that's not so
I need something before the show
Just a little something to make me GOOOOO

Wow Woah Ohh
Ya kna-kna-know what I want?
Wow Woah Ohh
Ya kna-kna-know what I want?
Give me more [x2]
Pretty please - a prescription
Give me more [x2]
Pretty please - a prescription

I don't need no one screwin' up my fun
Over the counter, fill that prescription
I don't need no one screwin' up my fun
Over the counter, fill that prescription

I'm the doctor, I'm the patient
Don't forget that, it's important
If ya love me, like I love me
Everybody will be sorry

Well I don't need nothin' before the show
I don't need nothin', well that's not so
I need something before the show
Just a little something to make me GOOOOO

Wow Woah Ohh

Perhaps,... So many people want what should be an unnecessary boost. Here it seems a relationship has developed between the entertainer and his crowd. Doctor prescribing treatment----music patient receiving his treatment from the audience.

This album is amazing.

This song criticizes the blatant abuse of drugs in the entertainment industry and how the artist end up demanding that they have and it destroys them and their careers.

I think it's about the obvious drugs in the music industry, but I wouldn't say it's a criticism. It's just he seems to take drugs himself, and I don't think he's aiming at being hypocritical here; it's just commenting on the issue.

Either drug prescription abuse or abuse of the crowd growing more and more hungry for "the bass." Kinda experience that with music I learn easily. One day it's all I can think about during AP exams, lunch, etc., and the next day I'm habituated to it and need more. MSI is my anti-drug.

"Well I don't need nothin' before the show I don't need nothin', well that's not so I need something before the show Just a little something to make me GOOOOO"

This seems like the progression of drug use - where the user starts out saying, "I don't need anything," progessing along, until eventually, he's dependent on the drug.

Its not about drugs, or the 'rush from the crowd'. Its about masturbation. The first three lines make it pretty clear.

"I'm the doctor, I'm the patient" He's giving himself the 'prescription'

"Don't forget that, it's important" Literally.

"If ya love me, like I love me" Like he loves himself.

LOL

as funny as that is, it still fits crowd rush

he gives the music to the crowd and by doing so receives a rush, doctor/patient

its important, well it being litterally important doesnt mean its litterally important to YOUR point....

If the crowd loves his music as much as he loves his music, then the drug cycle begins. he gets to play the doctor and patient and everyone will be sorry

(i still think its just about straight up drugs)
