All Good Things Lyrics
Not sure where to go
Everybody I know says I'm too forgiving
And now that I'm gone I don't want to move on
I just keep reliving
All good things, oh I wish you
All good things come to an end
All good things, oh I wish you well
Lost inside of my head, empty side of the bed
I feel this place without you
I keep pushing the bruise
'Cause I don't want to lose what I loved about you
I could think of a million ways
You proved you weren't the one
So live inside of your shades of gray
And never mind the sunshine that I'll find
I've got so much space now
I got a whole house with the wind blowing through
I don't need somewhere to hide
I've got this whole world inside
I was accustomed to showing you...
Everybody I know says I'm too forgiving
And now that I'm gone I don't want to move on
I just keep reliving
All good things come to an end
All good things, oh I wish you well
I feel this place without you
I keep pushing the bruise
'Cause I don't want to lose what I loved about you
You proved you weren't the one
So live inside of your shades of gray
And never mind the sunshine that I'll find
I got a whole house with the wind blowing through
I don't need somewhere to hide
I've got this whole world inside
I was accustomed to showing you...

What a pretty and honest song. I think the tendency after a breakup is to let yourself be an asshole, but she's just admitting that she can't be. She hopes her ex will be all right, and she looks forward to the future. I usually hate songs that are THIS optimistic, but this one is so honest and heartfelt that I can barely resist it haha. :D
This is a pretty song. I think it's a Mandy Moore cover? She has the exact same song on her album (unless hers is also a cover?)
Mandy Moore co-wrote the song with Deb and Steve.
Its nice to hear a song about a breakup that isn't angry or whiny for a change. It is very heartfelt, and beautiful.
totally agree with you....um Poisoned Beauty??? There may be some irony in your username, but no irony in Deb's voice!

yes i agree that she's being honest and optimistic, but there's a hint of irony when she says "all good things come to an end" because she's kind of saying i wish that all your good things come to an end... maybe i'm interpreting it wrong, but it just seems as though shes trying to keep herself positive by wishing him well, but that in between those wishes she really wants him to suffer too.
this song reminds of the kind of breakup where the relationship was bad from the start. He was never the right guy from the start and she knew that but just held on for whatever reason we hang on to bad relationship for. She acknowledges the good side of the relationship and that there was still some good fun in it. So why do we still feel bad when a bad relationship is finally over?
