Got this funny feeling
That maybe I think too much
Like a chef poking and prodding
Philosophers whose lost his mind
A lover’s whose lost his touch

But I got this funny felling
That the woman I’ve been longing for
Is just in my imagination
She’s just my projection
My sweat little confection

But it seems all I got are these uncertainties
And long roads ahead of me
Seems all I got are these uncertainties
And long roads ahead of me

But I got this funny feeling
Like I wanna do some good
But I feel all tangled up on the inside
I still like to think I could
I still like to think I would

But the world just seems so heavy
The ocean steady on the rise
Our children kill our children
Politics and all the lies
When I go over all the lies

Seems all I got are these uncertainties
And long roads ahead of me
All I got are these infatuations
Constant complications
These are my creations
Hope I have the patience
To brake on free
To break on free

Sometimes you gotta hurt child
Still all that you love
Still all that you’ve got; choices
But you’re more than just your mind
Cuz all we all need a little time

But it seems all I got are these uncertainties
And long roads ahead of me
But it seems all I got are these uncertainties
And long roads ahead of me
But it seems all I got are these uncertainties
And long roads ahead of me

Seem all I got these infatuations
Constant complications
These are my creations
Hope I have the patience
The patience
To brake on free
To break on free

This song is about suicide and coming to terms with death. lol, ok not really, but if the uncertainties don't get worked out, then it is....

In my opinion this song stands for anyone like myself whom thinks alot, sometimes you can think and give so much or just a little meaning to everything in life therefore confounding the mind..... If you listen to the song I interpret it to mean that all this thinking and meaning stacked together has lost him relationship and also confused his view of education because he has a hard time choosing for overthinking all the time.... I also feel like what he is searching for is simplicity instead of always projecting definition in his life experience, that way he can move forward and break on free/ finally make his mind up.........ecclesiastes "knowledge brings much sorrow, foolishness brings destruction" put God first everybody and truly let Him think for you......

All the thoughts his mind give him are creating option after option and imagination wrapped in imagination so he just wants to know reality outside of his thoughts, so he can be succesful and happy....its his mind that makes him uneased and uncertain not because of low self esteem but because of imagination and rich thought making the road lofty and long....he wants simplicity.....

Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
