i reckon its about since being famous, everyone wants to know them and pretend that their friends, even to the point that they don't want to got back to their home town? (' dont make me go home') because everyone that they didn't really know is trying to be their mate ('i could never connect to the people i dont know from back home') as people think somehow having them as mates will make them look better ('cos im not here to reflect you'). thats what i think anywayzzz.

This line confuses me:

"And i could never connect to the people i don’t know from back home"

It's quite poorly written I think and I'm unsure who it is he's actually talking about. Good tune though.

yeah i agree thatgirl_
i think someone who is newly famous is visiting family and grilfriend back home. girlfriends friends wont leave him alone now that he is famous and people who never used to speak to him want to be his friend. he doesnt want to go home if he is only liked for his career.
