i reckon its about since being famous, everyone wants to know them and pretend that their friends, even to the point that they don't want to got back to their home town? (' dont make me go home') because everyone that they didn't really know is trying to be their mate ('i could never connect to the people i dont know from back home') as people think somehow having them as mates will make them look better ('cos im not here to reflect you').
