Sorrow (feat. Myles Kennedy) Lyrics

I'm the only one
that sings the same old song
I know my destiny was made
long ago- I've yet to make a change
it's time to rearrange

I understand it seems I'm the last to notice
how anybody feels
is it really cause I feel like I'm the one that's owed it
Am I wrong
Am I wrong

Look at me the same
still i feel the blame
restricting myself from moving on
the punishment for never being whole
I've been like this too long

Sometimes I know it seems I'm the last to notice
how anybody feels
is it really cause I feel like I'm the one that's owed it
Am I wrong
Am I wrong

All my pride leaves me vacant
for the sorrow I'm to blame
but I know if I could just let go
I could find a better way

Only- am I the only one
who thinks and breathes when no one sees
I'm the only one

I understand it seems I'm the last to notice
how anybody feels
Is it really cause I feel like I'm the one that's owed it
Am I wrong
Am I wrong
Give me just a chance
I've noticed
what I've done
what I've done

Its basically the "My Name Is Earl" deal in a way - Morgan commented something like "Going on with life being bitter then wonder why it sucks."

i luv this its a cool band out there along with alter bridge, kennedy sounds amazing in this song. as far as i concern this song is abt getting in a situation where every1 watching at u like u are the criminal and feeling alone where u dont wanna feel alone. that all happens to me in my life. luv this song.

Such a great song...I think it's about picking up the pieces and moving on. Which I can apply to myself. ;)

The lyrics look good except it's "the punishment for never being wrong." It actually says it in the pamphlet.

Anyway this is easily my favorite song on the album. It's an epic power ballad (you can tell with the violins). Myles and Lajon's voices sound great together.

The part to pay attention to is: All my pride leaves me vacant For the sorrow I'm to blame But I know if I could just let go I could find a better way

It's about overcoming the sorrow you've been making yourself feel.

I think the song is about having too much pride. Always thinking you're right, and failing to realize that you aren't the only person alive. It seems like it's about letting go after being hurt and realizing that their are billions of people with problems, most of which are probably worse than yours. I read this the most in "Am I the only one, who thinks and breathes, when no one sees..."

Basically saying that the singer realizes that the world is bigger than him and he needs to get over what happened and move on.
