They say that im the man in my city they aint lying.
They say that im the one you can come see on his grind
They say that im a winner that winner that wont lose
They say that im the one all these chicks they wanna choose
And they aint lying they aint lying
And they aint lying No they aint lying
And they aint lying they aint lying
And they aint lying watcha heard about me

Mr. Master of ceremonies
Man of my city
How it feel to be the runner up
You tell me homie
Ask Nutter bout me cause he probably got my CD's
Bumpin all the way to his meeting got gifts, seasons, greetings
Show is about to begin please find your seating
Yes I am that bol
No need for asking or repeating and
I'm so ahead
No no narcolepsy but I'm winning
And as far as under ground we're the only thing bumblin
Real trill 100 a cow couldn't stomach em
Oxymoronic I'm in first but see they backs when runnin huh?
That's why when they say they on my heels I be like come again?
Lap, double lap, triple lap, double that
Boy you couldn't catch up if I messed up and doubled back
First the city, then the state
Tristate and then the map
But for now I'm kinda chillin where I'm at
I hear em' saying that

They say that im the man in my city they aint lying
They say that im the one you can come see on his grind
They say that im a winner that winner that wont lose
They say that im the one all these chicks they wanna choose
And they aint lying they aint lying
And they aint lying No they aint lying
And they aint lying they aint lying
And they aint lying watcha heard about me

Yeah
Whatcha heard about me (woah)
Cause I'm sure they done heard this, that, the third about me (so)
And it's prolly all true
I took his chick
I palmed her head
We in the club
I got you scared
You should be worried bout me
Cuff her, cuff her tight
Or she'll go missin for the night
And if I like what I like
She'll go missin from your life
Boy I'm too cool, I'm too smooth
You're barely nice
You say I'm wrong, you're right
I ball like ain't no Mike
My attitude is ice
My flow's 4,000 degrees sir
Oxymoronic, nope
That just constitutes a fever
I used to have haters
Now I got believers
Oh, homie you ain't takin no shorts?
Me either, me ether
Frequent fire spitter
Can't deny it gotta get up
Hired hitters all up in the building and they ridin with us
We run this here
You can't believe it how ya figure
The team strong so we just gotta get it
Who wit it

They say that im the man in my city they aint lying
They say that im the one you can come see on his grind
They say that im a winner that winner that wont lose
They say that im the one all these chicks they wanna choose
And they aint lying they aint lying
And they aint lying No they aint lying
And they aint lying they aint lying
And they aint lying watcha heard about me

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
