AM Tilts Lyrics
Come now, what's your name again?
I'm not implying come morning I'll need to know
But you never know
The morning tilts
Over the hills
And floods the world
The morning tilts
The morning spills
The morning tilts
Over the hills
And floods the world
The morning tilts
The morning spills
We lose our grip
And slip away
Into the day
We can't kiss with friends like this
Our chapped lips are all over your (?), girl
We'd better stop
The morning tilts
Over the hills
And floods the world
The morning tilts
The morning spills
The morning tilts
Over the hills
And floods the world
The morning tilts
The morning spills
We lose our grip
And slip away
Into the day
Oh, oh, oh, over the world
(Over the world)
All, all awake again
(All, all that we)
All, all that we pressed against the edge
Pressed against
(All up against)
Uh, up against the edge
(I, I resist)
That this could be, could this be the end?
The morning tilts
Over the hills
And floods the world
The morning tilts
The morning spills
The morning tilts
Over the hills
And floods the world
The morning tilts
The morning spills
We lose our grip
And slip away
Into the day

I find theres too much of the chorus but maybe I'm just not used to the song yet.
good song. there is a lot of chourus, tho.
But i liek it.
I get the impression that he talking about some kind one night stand but am probably off . . .Matches lyrics confuse me sometimes, especially if I have not heard it enough.
OR, once I hear it again, waking up with a hangover.

"We can't kiss with grins like this My chapped lips are all over your pearlies girl We'd better stop" The best lines of the song- Shawn is such a romantic.
I love how they string their songs together even if they're not on the same album. If you listen to "My Soft and Deep" he talks about the morning tilting closer. That song was about messing around with someone at night and this is about a morning after.
The mistakes are bothersome!
I finally grasped the meaning (to me) when I saw them the day after Easter, and declared this one of my top five favorite songs ever so far. It's about the joy and ecstacy you get in the morning-which was exactly what I felt that morning. You're just looking at the morning around you not caring about the past-the night before. Whether you had a good time or not. Hence, they can't kiss because they are smiling. Nothing matters because you are in a new day...at the edge of a new beginning.
Could this be begin?
