Once again the same things on your mind
Increasing pulse from what goes on inside
Will you pay for what you've done, hatred
Payback's such a bitch her vengeance haunts you

So what's wrong tough guy why the tears
You drove me to this now you disappear
Now all those acts repaid
Your turn to be afraid
Not longer almost done
Oh, God, just what have I become?

Now all those acts repaid
Your turn to be afraid
Not longer almost done
Oh, God, just what have I become?

Try to fight you only make things worse
Screams of agony your final verse
Now you're begging for your life, breathless
All the times I bled my vengeance takes you

So what's wrong tough guy why the tears
You drove me to this now you disappear
Now all those acts repaid
Your turn to be afraid
Not longer almost done
Oh, God, just what have I become?

Now all those acts repaid
Your turn to be afraid
Not longer almost done
Oh, God, just what have I become?

Your sweetest dreams turn into tears
It's almost done
They're almost gone

Our darkest days they fade away
It's almost done
They're almost gone

So what's wrong tough guy why the tears?
You drove me to this now you disappear

So what's wrong tough guy why the tears?
You drove me to this now you disappear

Now all this acts repaid
Your turn to be afraid
Not longer almost done
Oh, God, just what have I become?

Now all this acts repaid
Your turn to be afraid
Not longer almost done
Oh, God, just what have I become?

It's about what you would do if you had the person who used to bully you or tease you at school tied up in a chair.

Yes, Moorsim is right but it's also about understanding that vengeance is kind of evil: "Oh god just what have i become"

im going to have to say that i disagree strongly on that one - after finally reading the lyrics for this song, im going to say that this song is about some guy hurting his girl. to back this up, just look at the line in the opening verse, "Paybacks' such a bitch, HER vengeance haunts you."

so to me, this song goes out to the guy that stands up for his chick and kicks the shit out of the dude that should NOT have put his hands on her.

and to the part that says, "Oh God, just what have i become." that is simple, the same person telling the story isn't normally a violent person but since his girl means to world to him, he let his chaos take control and ripped that dude to pieces.

this song is absolutely amazing, as well as the rest of the album. these guys have definitely earned their way into becoming one of my favorite bands.

and im going to disagree with myself on this now - after listening to the song ALOT more...this song could also very much be interpreted as a boyfriend being a complete scumbag to his girlfriend and he drove her to become a monster and now he's afraid of that.

well i wouldnt say its about a boyfriend and girlfriend thing, when theyre saying HER vengeance haunts you, i think theyre refering to payback, like how guys call their boats girls... but id just say its about a guy that got picked on and beat up buy a guy and hes finaly getting revenge

For me it sounds more like someone who is haunted by his feeling about someone who he left or left him... Not the love, but the pain is coming trought in this song.

I think it's about a guy who used to abuse his girlfriend, until she turned around and finally had enough and now she's going to get revenge on him and he's scared and regreting his actions of the past.

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
