Air Traffic Control Lyrics
Well, you were high when I met you
Now you're falling like a leaf from a tree
Wanna reach into the sea
And every time the world goes round
You're getting closer to the ground
Air traffic control
I've been gone, I've been up away from home
Now my gear is down, I've circled round
And I am coming in
Running out of oxygen
And my fuel is running low
Run, realize where do I go
I'm looking down but they don't show
Well, you were high when I met you
Now you're coming down on my frequency
I can't hear you, can you see me?
You're cutting in, I'm breaking up
Your true love trapple and I
Air traffic control
Hold on, I'm coming in
Air traffic control
Hold on, I'm coming in
Air traffic control
I've been gone, I've been up away from home
Now my gear is down, I'm circling round
And I am coming in
Running out of oxygen
And my fuel is running low
Runway lights, where do I go
I'm looking down, but they don't show
Wanna race into the sea
I can't hear you, can you see me?
I can't see you, can you hear me?
Air traffic control
Hold on, I'm coming in
Air traffic control
Hold on, I'm coming in
Air traffic control
I've been gone, I've been up away from home
Now my gear is down, I'm circling round
And I am coming in
I've run out of oxygen
And my fuel is running low
Run, realize where did you go?
I'm looking down, I'm coming in

Wow. Try not thinking of David Bowie when listening to this song :)
I think it's about a guy who tried to break away from his life but now realizes he wants to go back.
"Well you were high when i met you, and now you're falling like a leaf from a tree, (wanna reach into the sea) and every time the world goes round, you're getting closer to the ground."
This is about how the guy was a mess and now as time goes on, he keeps getting worse until he "crashes."
"Air traffic control, I've been gone, I've been up away from home. now my gear is down, I've circled round, and i am coming in...." The guy wants help back to normality but he has lost touch with those that could help him and now he's just "circlin' round" and waiting for him to crash. The line where he says his gear is down, to me, means that he wants to land and but it doesn't matter because he can't find where to and it's no use because his "oxygen is low."
"wanna race into the sea i cant hear you, can you see me? i cant see you, can you hear me?" He accepts that there's no way for him to get better so he just basically says "Fuck it, if I can't get better, then I'll just try harder to die." He also says that he can't hear or see the person that would "help him down," so he is disconnected from his help line.
That's just my opinion though.
your true love, trapple and i, lol, should be:
"You're cutting in, I'm breaking up, You're too low, try pulling up!"
the first stanza is about a person (let's say a boy) who really likes another person (let's say a girl) at first, but as that boy gets to know the girl more and more he finds her less interesting and becomes less interested in her by the second
basically, the whole song is about a person who enjoys becoming close to people but finds that the more you get to know people the more cruel they become so this person is somehow distancing himself from human interaction, yet it's not in an anti-social way
just my opinion
This song blatantly rips off the lyrics of David Bowie's "Space Oddity", the chord progression of Radiohead's "Karma Police" (especially at the beginning), and the violin parts of the Beatles' "A Day in the Life" and "Eleanor Rigby". Oh well, at least it's a decent song.
