I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.
Ah bang a gong or get it on
We don't need to take off our clothes to get it on
Pull your skirt up a little bit
Pull down your top and show me a little tit
I said hey short girl you're like a midget
You can turn a phone cord into a widget
She said you son of a bitch you little bitch
I ain't gonna show you my love without a hitch
I said hey hold up sugar just one at a time
Show me yours baby I'll show you mine
She said oh you're so pathetic
Yeah well so...you're so magnetic
I said hold up girl I know your game
Ah you want a sugar daddy you can tame
I said sing, sing me a song
And bang me like the girls in Hong Kong
I know I know I ain't correct
But politics are so much better when there's sex
I said rollover do me a trick
Do it with your shoes on it'd be a kick
Ah tell me the horse that you pick
Let me buy you a lollipop you want to lick
She said, Does that shit work with other girls?
If it does, why don't you find one of them to give you twirls?
My love cost pearls
Ah does it baby - You don't say
She said hold up I know your game
You want a paper doll that you can tame
I said sing, sing me a song she said well
Touch me like the boys
That did me wrong
You know it's okay, it's alright
If you want clean fun go fly a kite.

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
This song's so fun ... obviously about flirting between the sexes, all that pizzazz. Saw Louis XIV live (last night actually), and they were pretty awesome
Oh and another thing ... isn't it 'touch me like the boys in Iran', not 'touch me like the boys that did me wrong'?
oh my dear lawd i love this song! but even more so, i LOVE LOVE LOVE the video!!!
check it out if you havent yet suicidegirls.com/LouisXIV/
im pretty sure it's "touch me like the boys that did me wrong".
lol of course you love the video, it had naked SG's in it... ;)
haha...anyways, I love this song so much, it's my fav off the new album, and I'm in love with Louis XIV, I want to see them in concert soon!!!
What's not to like about the video?
I just love the last line: "If you want clean fun go fly a kite" Loves bands with attitude :D
haha i love this. it's kinky. ha good to dance to maybe? bedroom dancing, of course.
I love this song. I feel paranoid that people can hear it when I have headphones on though. I like to write the lyrics of this song on my friend's chemistry notes because it pisses her off. "Pull your skirt up/a little bit..."
I think it's about a guy who wants sex and a girl who wants a relationship because she's been burned...then at the end she changed her mind.
Most memorable lyric ever: "Politics are so much better when there's sex."
My love cost pearls Ah does it baby - You don't say
aaahahahhaha... i love that line. please tell me im not the only one who gets it..
It's not about a pearl necklace (orgasm). She's telling him to get lost unless he can afford her (financially). She wants stuff; he wants sex. It would be a trade off. Hell, since sex is merely sport (recreational), why the hell not.
