I left my itunes on 1 night and suddenly dropped off. I was awoken by this song it was such a eurphoric moment lol.

In reference to the lines: "I'll find you that French boy, You'll find me that French girl"

My feeling is that they aren't literally meaning that they'll find each other another boy / girl. Instead, I interpret them as being more like "I'll find a French boy inside myself for you, and you'll find me a French girl inside of yourself".

The line shortly afterwards "We're gonna lose ourselves" would go along with this, suggesting that they're going to lose their old personalities, in favour, perhaps, of this French ideal of a romantic couple.

This is a beautiful song from a man to a woman. They're going through hard times, but he loves her so much that he can stay strong for her. So strong in fact that he can promise her it will be over one day and good things and happiness are just around the corner. He just needs her to stay strong and patient for him too. Paris could be Paris literally, but it could also just represent all that he wants to and knows he will give to her one day... By the way, there's a different version of it sung by a woman. It's absolutely stunning! It's called the aeroplane remix.

like Ed says most of their songs are just about escapism, not real world stuff because music is meant to be where you go to get away from all that stuff. I love the lines 'And every night we'll watch the stars, They'll be out for us, They'll be out for us, And every night, the city lights, They'll be out for us, They'll be out for us'

These lyrics right here really say what's going on in this song. The songwriter is saying to this person to hold on a little more. It's like a desperate attempt to try to keep her with him. The songwriter is trying desperately to promise the world, knowing that they can't provide it now, and it almost seems as if this person they're singing this to is about to leave. The fact that the words "I promise" are said over and over, it really shows the desperation in this guy's voice.

The melancholy message really stands out in the Aeroplane remix, give it a listen!

This is the definition of an anthem I love this band so much, they are going places!! Yeah pretty much agree with everyone else, it's about looking to the future and believing you can get to where you want to be i.e. Paris =]

YES, finally someone has put up these lyrics. I love this song, I love this band. The message is pretty straightforward, they want to go to Paris or at least have hope to get away from their old lives.
