Did you used to believe?
Did you used to believe?
Well I was feeling the same way...
Squeezing dreams out of a fucking sound!
They stick around, they go away
But none of you know a fucking thing about me!
...just go away
"She's fucking dead!
Oh my god, she's fucking dead!!!"
My love stopped her breathing!"

Did you used to believe?
Did you used to believe?
Well, I was feeling the same way
Now I'm chucking rocks at the fucking glass!

They stick around, they go away
But none of you know a fucking thing about me!
...just go away
"She's fucking dead!
Oh my god, she's fucking dead!!!"
My love stopped her fucking breathing
...life into me!
And the songs that she sings
Are as dead as nails on the fucking shelf!
What happened to the times?
Where we'd stay up all night
We'd fucking fight!
And we'd fight and we'd fight and we'd fight!
Those were the days dear, forgive me for holding on! (FOR HOLDING ON!)

I was thinking about the times when no one cared
And how you hated everything I fucking loved
Well, I don't give a fuck about any of you!
You'll come and go...
But you'll never mean a thing to her!
TO HER!
you'll never mean a thing to her!
TO HER!
you'll never mean a thing to her!
TO HER!

I LOVED THE WAY SHE FUCKING SANG IN MY HEADPHONES!!!

Probably my favourite song, ever. I can't believe it wasn't already up.

It's clearly about a girl, on some level. ...but it's also about "the scene" and people coming and going: "They stick around, they go away"

Not sure whether the death is metaphorical or real: "She's fucking dead"

Also, I've never understood the final line, but have just always loved it anyway. Anyone care to shed some light? "I LOVED THE WAY SHE FUCKING SANG IN MY HEADPHONES!!!"

I'm pretty sure its not a girl at all, he's referring to the hardcore scene as a girl, it makes much more sense that way

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
