We Change, We Wait Lyrics

I've been changing
You're still waiting on me
Just wait for me

And I am on my own
But it's nice to see you came alone
And this might sound wrong
But I can only tell you through a song
And I will take my time
'Cause it's the only thing that's on my side
And this can't be real
Tell me do you ever feel

Do you ever feel [4x]

Oh I've been changing
You're still waiting on me
I'll never let go, never let go
She said I'll never grow up
Oh yeah I've been changing
You're still waiting on me
I'll never let go, never let go
She said I'll never grow up

Two years now since I met you
And I just can't forget about you
You don't know what you do to me
Oh you don't know what you're doing to me
And baby I'm not lost
I'm just a little confused on what to do
And it's all on me
Oh it's not you, why can't you see?

Do you ever feel [4x]

Oh I've been changing
You're still waiting on me
I'll never let go, never let go
She said I'll never grow up
Oh yeah I've been changing
You're still waiting on me
I'll never let go, never let go
She said I'll never grow up

Oh who are you now?
(Oh who are you now?)
[2x]

This shit is so played out
It's so played out
So played out

Yeah I've been changing
You're still waiting on me
Oh please wait for me

I've been changing
You're still waiting on me
I'll never let go, never let go
She said I'll never grow up

these guys have such amazing songs. love them.

okay, so i think this is about an old relationship, and they broke up, maybe he did it, naybe she did, i don't know...and she wants him back, but he's not sure what he's going to do. he can't forget about her or move on, but he's also saying that it might not be the best idea to get back together. she's telling him that he wants her to wait for him, because he's still changing and he's just confused.

maybe i'm way off, that's what i get from it. no matter what, this song rooocks. =D

to me this song perfectly describes me life right now.

ok, how it relates to me: i'm in my first semester at college and i decided to try to stay with my boyfriend through college. the first semester it worked out alright but now it's getting difficult. he's a little overprotective so like i can't do the things i wanna do. so i'm thinking it'd be best if we took time apart for me to do the college stuff.

and as for a general meaning, to me: "I've been changing You're still waiting on me Just wait for me" i think it's the girl talking here saying she's changing, she wants a break but she still loves him

"And I am on my own But it's nice to see you came alone And this might sound wrong But I can only tell you through a song And I will take my time 'Cause it's the only thing that's on my side And this can't be real Tell me do you ever feel" this is the guy. he's confused, he'll wait because it's the only thing he can do. he doesn't believe it and he wonders if she really ever cared

"Oh I've been changing You're still waiting on me I'll never let go, never let go She said I'll never grow up Oh yeah I've been changing You're still waiting on me I'll never let go, never let go She said I'll never grow up" girl changing, having fun, living life. boy waiting

"Two years now since I met you And I just can't forget about you You don't know what you do to me Oh you don't know what you're doing to me And baby I'm not lost I'm just a little confused on what to do And it's all on me Oh it's not you, why can't you see?" they've been together for so long, he doesn't understand why now. he's trying to tell her how much she means to him. and he knows he'll go on without her, but he's just trying to get used to it.

and the rest is pretty much repetitive. kso maybe i'm wrong. but that's just what it sounds like to me

this song somehow realtes to me. my ex-boyfriend and i are bestfriends now, but i still love him. he knows i do, but he doesnt know i love him THAT way.

i met him what seems about two years ago almost, and i have changed quite a bit since then. the line "and i am on my own but is nice to see you came along" basically explains how i am single and okay with that and even though he has a new gf now, he is sticking around and is alwyas helping me and keeping me company.

in the line "Two years now since I met you And I just can't forget about you You don't know what you do to me Oh you don't know what you're doing to me And baby I'm not lost I'm just a little confused on what to do" is like when i cant forget about him (of course, bestfriends) and i honsestly dont think that he truly understands how he makes me feel. and i am not completely los, im just a little confued with what i want.

this song basically exlpains my situation.

I think it's about a guy going through a hard time, seeing things for the first time, changing all his past philosophies, and 'discovering himself'. I remember reading somewhere when Alex Gaskarth mentioned that the period when you're finally seeing who you are is a stressful period, and not as graceful as movies may make it seem, cause your change isn't only affecting you, but everyone around you.

Here, his girlfriend, or just a friend for that matter, is obviously affected by it, seeing as how she says he'll "never grow up," but he responds with "Do you ever feel," as if asking if she has reached that stage yet, or ever felt the same. During that 'phase', a lot of times you feel alone, and you feel like your friends aren't really your friends, etc. Of course, he knows the phase will pass and life will be good again, and hopefully even better, and asks her to wait for him.

The other theories about relationships fit perfectly too :) I'm just fond of the 'self-discovery-phase' theory, because I think i'm going through that right now, and despite some complications, i've never felt better.

We Change, We Wait. Genius.

The Maine ROCKS!

So I think maybe at one time they were together and he just needed a break or something and he's changing. I agree with DidYouSaySomething on that he's changing his views on the way he sees things and he's just a bit confused on the person he's becoming. She's waiting for him and she wont let go. He thinks the change will be for good but right now he just needs time so he asking her for her to wait for him.

I Heart the maine majorr.

DidYouSaySomething took the words right out of my mouth. i really do just think it's about growing up and finding yourself, and someone always being there to help and understand you.

i pretty much agree with the whole ex-girlfriend & shes waiting for him to change, what i dont understand is the whole,

"Oh who are you now? (Oh who are you now?)[2x]"

are they implying that the girl is now like "woah who the heck are you" now that he's changed & hes all well dude isnt that what you wanted? i dont know i just dont really get that part; that what i think anyway;

forgot to say this song's absoulutely AMAZING

Cover art for We Change, We Wait lyrics by Maine, The

I loove all the maine's songs! Soo I think this song is about a girl and boy who have a past, and maybe they took a break and they never got over each other, and ,maybe the girl kept trying to pursue the guy but he was different now, pushing her away and she's probably not wanting to let go because of what they had and she's mad but she just can't let go, and the guy can't tell her , so he tells it in a song. They love each other , he just needs to figure himself out.
