Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve.
The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future.
Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere"
The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
I've got soul working for me half the time, only when I'm half alive.
Thinking of someone else.
I saw you praying just to pray for me.
I felt something happening.
I was just falling asleep.
But thanks for your help, thanks for your help.
Pulling me from the flames, (and stop the fire)
I'll just wait ‘til you leave, then run right back in.
I'll run right back in,
I'll run right back in,
I'll run right back in.
I've got plans mostly just to hang around, hoping for a hand me down.
Staring at my bright future.
I drive around waving like a sad parade, at the kids all out to play.
I'm good; go have fun on your own.
But thanks for your help, thanks for your help.
Pulling me from the flames, (and stop the fire)
I'll just wait ‘til you leave, then run right back in.
I'll run right back in,
I'll run right back in,
I'll run right back in.
Can you see my room from there, burning, burning? [x4]
Pulling me from the flames, (can try to pull me out).
Pulling me from the flames, (can try to pull me out)
I'll run right back in, I'll run right back in, I'll run right back in.
Pulling me from the flames…
Pulling me from the flames…
Pulling me from the flames…
I'll run right back in. [x5]

This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example:
"'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it.
“I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
Favorite off the new album! I think it has to do with drugs, which I believe many of the songs on this album touch on. not 100% though.
i think it could be about anything destructive really
it seems like someone is helping him to stop but he can only manage it when that person is around and knows that as soon as they leave, he's just going to go right back to doing whatever it was
i don't know, that's just what it seems like to me
i think it's "Won't stop the fire," not " "And stop the fire."
to me, this song is about faith. ("I saw you praying just to pray for me/I felt something happening"). The fire could represent hell, or sin. ("Pulling me from the flames/won't stop the fire") The person in the song witnesses faith, and his or her friend is 'pulling' them from the fire, but once they leave they go back to the way they were and, "run right back in."
i think this about some girl he fell in love and she helped him quit drugs
I don't think they wrote it about drugs but i can see how it totally fits with that. i'm going through that and my boyfriend is about to leave for a month and i really appreciate him "pulling me from the fray" but in all honestly i'm just waiting till he leave to "run right back in"
torn between two addictions running betweeen the two one a lover one a drug maybe ! im not to sure ..
Not sure but I think the song is about drugs or losing your faith
I think it could be about drugs or faith. But it could also be about a boring life the boy in song is living 'I drive around waving like a sad parade At the kids all out to play I'm good Go have fun on your own' I probably am wrong But that's the way I see it
