It's a dark road
And a dark way that leads to my house
And the word says you're never gonna find me there, oh no
I've got an open door
It didn't get there by itself
It didn't get there by itself

There's a feelin'
But you're not feelin' it at all
There's a meaning
But you're not listening anymore
I look at that open road
I'm gonna walk there by myself

And if you catch me I might try to run away
You know I can't be here too long
And if you let me I might try to make you stay
Seems you never realize a good thing till it's gone

Maybe I'm still searchin' but I don't know what it means

All the fires of destruction are still burnin' in my dreams
There's no water that can wash away this longin' to come clean

Hey yeah yeah

I can't find the joy within in my soul
It's just sadness takin' hold
I wanna come in from the cold
And make myself renewed again (I wanna go livin' I wanna come renewed)
It takes strength to live this way (oohh)
The same old madness everyday (nooo)
I wanna kick these blues away (kick away now)
I wanna learn to live again

Hey hey hey
Hey hey hey

It's a dark road
And a dark way that leads to my house
And the word says
You're never gonna find me there oh no
I've got an open door
It didn't get there by itself oh
It didn't get there by itself

    My Interpretation

I think it's a reflection of giving up.

"Its a dark road, and a dark way that leads to my house" - It's no longer her home. It's cold, unwelcoming, and unsafe.

"I've got an open door" - She tried but now she's looking to leave. She's looking to get out.

"It didn't get there by itself There’s a feelin’ But you’re not feelin’ it at all There’s a meaning But you’re not listening any more I look at that open road I’m gonna walk there by myself…" - You pushed her to the point of feeling as though her only option is to leave the place that's no longer home. She's been the only one holding on, the only one truly sacrificing for you but you're too wrapped up in yourself to listen and realize it. She's no longer someone you need, prioritize, or want. You've left her so she's going to walk out alone.

"Maybe I’m still searchin’ but I don’t know what it means All the fires of destruction are still burnin’ in my dreams There’s no water that can wash away this longin’ to come clean" - She's still trying to find herself, a place where she can be happy. What's the meaning to life if everything changes? Things that were meant to be constant and stable have crumbled. She just wants to feel alive (clean).

"I can’t find the joy within in my soul It’s just sadness takin’ hold I wanna come in from the cold And make myself renewed again It takes strength to live this way The same old madness everyday I wanna kick these blues away I wanna learn to live again" - Same as above. She wants to get herself back. Where she's happy. She wants to feel like everything will be ok but this "madness" is detroying her. The strength to hold onto someone that's already let go is causing her to get further and further away from a sense of home. Of being free and alive again. She doesn't understand what happened.

"I’ve got an open door It didn’t get there by itself" - She's thinking about leaving, but you're the one that pushed her there.

The fact that she wrote this song and is still trying to communicate with the person that it's them that's pushing her away... could mean that she's hoping they'll change her mind. That the person will turn around and realize what they're losing. That they really do care. I don't think she's saying it's over... I think she just wants things to be ok again. To go back to how they were when it was them against the world. But she has come to a point where they need to man up or she's outta there.

    • at least that's my interpretation of the song.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
