Traffic Lyrics

This is the third time this week
that I find myself wandering down your street - and i can't seem to give it up.
I've even stopped making these excuses for why you're stuck here in my thoughts when it's been long enough. I try to keep myself moving, but i'm not going anywhere..

I wait in the same spot
brain like a parking lot
you're the traffic in my head
you're the reason why i'm wrecked
I pray for it to stop
like rain on the sidewalk
traffic in my head
you're the traffic in my head
there's just too much to forget

guess i should be happy now
everything is back to how it was
before you came around
i'm already changing
i've even tried to find a new distraction
but still you surround
as if it's not hard enough

and i try to keep myself moving but i'm not going anywhere

I wait in the same spot
brain like a parking lot
you're the traffic in my head
you're the reason why i'm wrecked
I pray for it to stop
like rain on the sidewalk
traffic in my head
you're the traffic in my head
there's just too much to forget

a part of me thinks that i'm going crazy
the world's spinning
my vision is hazy
and none of this makes any sense
i never meant for this to end
i can do what i have to do..
if i could only get around you

I think this song is about someone who's caught up in infatuation and can't get someone out of her head...they're constantly making traffic in her head. And every time she thinks about him she freezes.

I agree...and this song kinda hits close to home since i went through a breakup recently. She can't stop thinking about him; she tries to make excuses for thinking about him (blame, regret, etc) but just gives up and realizes she just wants him back. now that he's gone she doesn't remember who she was before "she" was a "we."

I really love this song and I think Marie is a very talented artist. 'nuff said.

They broke up and she was happy with it to start off with but now she can't stop thinking about him. He's the "traffic" in her head and the memories being with him surround her no matter where she goes. There's just way too much for her to forget....poor thing. I love Marie Digby.

Love this song. For awhile there, it hit really, really close to home with someone that I wanted to be with so badly but couldn't. All the thoughts of being together, and the dreams of what could happen, and they all come shattering down in an instant, but the next day you're back at it, feeling the same way all over again.
