You had my heart
We'll never be worlds apart
Maybe in magazines, but you'll still be my star
Baby cause in the dark, you can't see shiny cars
And that's when you need me there
With you I'll always share
Because

[Chorus]
When the sunshine, we shine together
Told you I'll be here forever
Said I'll always be your friend
Took an oath I'm stick it out 'till the end
Now that it's raining more than ever
Know that we'll still have each other
You can stand under my umbrella
You can stand under my umbrella
(Ella ella eh eh eh)
Under my umbrella
(Ella ella eh eh eh)
Under my umbrella
(Ella ella eh eh eh)
Under my umbrella
(Ella ella eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh)

These fancy things
Will never come in between
Your apart of my entity,
Here for infinity
When the war has dealt it's part
When the world has dealt it's cards
If the hand is hard, together we'll measure heart
Because

[Chorus]

You can run into my arms
It's OK, don't be alarmed
Commit to me
(There's no distance in between our love)
So, go and let the rain pour
I'll be all you need and more
Because

[Chorus]

It's raining, raining, raining,
Oh baby it's raining (raining)
Baby come in to me, Come in to me
It's raining, raining, raining
Oh baby it's raining (raining)
You can always come in to me,
Come back To me

(Ella ella eh eh eh)
Under my umbrella
(Ella ella eh eh eh)
Under my umbrella
(Ella ella eh eh eh)
Under my umbrella
(Ella ella eh eh eh)
Under my umbrella
(Ella ella eh eh eh)
Under my umbrella
(Ella ella eh eh eh)
Under my umbrella
(Ella ella eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh)

I think I like this version more than the Rihanna and the Scott Simons version? Maybe?

wow lately theres so many people doing remixes and covers to this song. Rihanna did a remix with Chris Brown. Mandy Moore just did a cover. you guys should download it, its really good. then theres this guy called John West, personally i dont like his version very much. in the song, hes like dragging his voice when he was singing and i didnt like that. Scott Simons' version is different. he did it acoustic but it has a beat to it. idk just listen to it :] then theres these music artist on myspace thats not well known.

The first Umbrella cover I heard was by Mandy Moore. There's Plain White T's version also and a lot more. I don't know what's with the song Umbrella but yeah I agree lots of people have done this song.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
