Open Bar Reception Lyrics

This should be a night to be remembered.
We'll remember you can be sure of that.
On and on we walk out to the crowd
I'm expected you're expected.
No one else will know that you've been crying.
Think of where we are and who will care.
I should of hired someone who could sing just a little better
prince controversy

I should feel we're going somewhere better
but I dont
why should we be anything but strangers
in clothes that we dont own

I just realized that this has been the first time
we've seen each others vulneribilty.
Somewhere between hello and goodbye
there is something serious that we always missed

I should feel we're going somewhere better
but I dont
why should we be anything but strangers
in clothes that we dont own

Drifting in and out a priest is talking
something 'bout a body from a bone.
A thinking man said I could never be
half as close to youas you are to me

I should feel it all leads somewhere better
but I dont
why should we be anything but strangers
in clothes that we dont own
I should feel we'll get to somplace better
but I dont
why should we be anything but strangers
in clothes that we dont own

I think this song is about the father of the groom - and he is reflecting on his relationship (or lack thereof) with his son, he feelings on marriage in general, and life. I think this is about realizing how final marriage is in changing not just the couple's lives but also all the family members' lives.

"Controversy" is such a great song and this one is fantastic as well. Do you get high, does your daddy cry?

Fantastic song!

I think it's about a guy at a wedding, perhaps one of the groomsmen (though its confusing because he's talking about who he hired to sing, which may be one of the parents jobs?). If he's a groomsmen, he may be talking to a bridesmaid (because of the rented dress and tux).

Maybe they were a couple at one point, and since broken up. Now they're in this awkward place, being in the wedding party at a friend's wedding. They finally see each other in a light they never did.

Tom Linton definitely wrote the lyrics to this song. Jim Adkins doesn't write any sensible lyrics because he hasn't gone through puberty yet. His big bangs are fucking gay. Tom always writes the good lyrics but people don't know because Jim tied a bomb to his leg and told him to not tell anyone or he would "blow him the fuck up you nigger." Yeah, Jim's also racist.
