Maybe we believe
She was ready to go
In the morning light
Baby you believe
That she was made of gold
In the east where you killed her
You lead us
When you need to feed us
You comfortably delete us
When you need your fetus

You cheat us when you feed us with the lie
Stars look out and
Cheat us when you feed us with the lie
Stars look out

Goodbye, goodbye

She speaks unrehearsed
Languages from skin
In the morning light
Painting shadows on
The faces of the dead
In front of their windows

You cheat us when you feed us with the lie
Stars look out and
Cheat us when you feed us with the lie
Before it's too late
Before it's too late

Do you know that life is ending?
As we go, the dots connecting
Had our chance to save the garden
As it dies, our souls will harden
With these words chastising your conscience
We're breaking through and praying for transcendence
But you
Deceived us all now

You cheat us when you feed us with the lie
Stars look out and
Cheat us when you feed us with the lie
Stars look out and
Cheat us when you feed us with the lie
Stars look out and
Cheat us when you feed us with the lie
Stars look out

Alright the song Feed Us by Serj Tankian might have many meanings but i think i have found the true meaning to the song. When the song starts out..."Maybe we believe, She was ready to go, In the morning light, Maybe you believe, That she was made of gold, In the East where you killed her..." I think it means that we thought that we, being America thought that George Bush needed to leave as a president and that in the morning when people woke up they saw that he was reelected in 2004 and the East being the eastern stated mostly republican states voted him in and killed the country. When the song says "You cheat us when you feed us with the lie, Stars look out and, Cheat us when you feed us with the lie, Stars look out...." It is talking about all the lies that Bush gave us as a country and how he totally ruined America with the war. and the Stars look out is all the dead American soldiers wanting to just eat Bush and they want to be feeded. then when it says "She speaks unrehearsed, Languages from skin, In the morning light, Painting shadows on the, Faces of the dead, In front of their windows..." It is talking about bush trying to talk to iraqi people and trying to make peace but really they hate him and throw shoes at him.

Overall the song is about George Bush screwing us over.

"Maybe we believe, She was ready to go, In the morning light, Maybe you believe, That she was made of gold, In the East where you killed her..." She is American soldiers, you made us beleive they were ready to go and fight a flawless victory against Iraq. but when they got to the east they fell.

"You lead us, When you need to feed us, You comfortable delete us, When you need your fetus..." feeding us lies and propoganda to get us to support the war he started. then when we don't matter he deletes us.

"You cheat us when you feed us with the lie, Stars look out and, Cheat us when you feed us with the lie, Stars look out...." i thinks the stars look out and say "goodbye" to the people who died for an unworthy cause.

"She speaks unrehearsed, Languages from skin, In the morning light, Painting shadows on the, Faces of the dead, In front of their windows..."(i don't think its windows but widows) we fight people, not by talking through and coming to an agreement but by soloing out skill color and killing whoever doesn't look pleasing.(this could also mean the discrimination towards people because they are from the middle east) painting shadows of the dead is forgetting about them, forgetting their existence. as their widows watch them do so.

"Do you know that life is ending, As we go, the dots connecting, We had our chance to save the garden, As it dies, our souls will harden, With these words chastising your conscience, We're breaking through and praying for transcendence..." they don't know that life is ending, the more the go the more things get worse. we had a chance of peace but as peace is no longer available our souls grow harder and we hate even more. the gov is punishing your conscience with words of propoganda. yet people break through and pray to surpass the governments actions.

thats about it change fetus to feed us and windows to widows

xchipperx i think you are basically right, but i think it actually is fetus. basically it means that they delete the people just so that the can get to the fetus (unborn baby) so that they can raise the children to join the war. however you are right about the widows things...it aint windows =P

oh yea btw i just thought of something else for stars look out. as in, the gods look out and see all the destruction and corruption which can come from their creation.

Woah, woah. Does this song show that Serj Studies or has studied the bible? Lets break it down.

Babylon is considered the 'System of Satan' named after the great city Babylon in Mesopotamia (located in the eastern part of the world) because of its depravity and false religion ect. This 'modern day babylon' is pictured by Jesus as a great harlot because 'she' sleeps with and controls the leaders of the world.

Now, satan leads us, finding and raising us up from children with false belifs that promise life but are lies, stars look out 'heaven and its inhabitants'. Painting faces on the dead means our common belif in ghosts when really, they are a lie to hide the fact these things that happen are satan's cause and his fellow angles that have forsaken god(demons).

Alot of people followed and still follow babylon the great so that involves the gold thing. Life is ending because Satan will be destroyed eventually by God and all the lies will be undone (before its too late). Decieved = pulled us away from god. Comfortably delete us can point to the fact Satan does not care about our lives (gods creations). Because the end is coming we are too late to save the garden (of eden/earth). We are breaking through and praying (because we are learning the end is coming). (dots connecting means things are becoming clearer). Um by the looks of it Serj has little faith in that god will make things better at the end of it all.

This is what I think at the moment lol xD and yes its widows not windows. So yeah, very good song. Also I deeply apolgize if I have gotten a few minor facts wrong but I kinda blotched this out after thinking about it :S. Also this is just a take on it, no arguing about religion please.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
