Warborn Lyrics

Amidst a swirling din of smoke and screaming on the battlefield, born reared on the teat of my dear mother war. Hardened to stone through abuse, mocked, beaten, and scorned a bayonet severed umbilical cord.

The wind sings its sad lullaby through a blackened and hollowed ribcage. I'm to die in battle, divine with the flames as my grave. This realm of inhuman carnage where the blood eternally rains. To my brothers who've fallen before me, I will walk with you again.

[Solo]

This, my demented playground, the horizon is howling ablaze. A skeletal village illuminates the sky as fire destroys their grains. With glee I rape and torture, my pleasure is inflicting pain. With a vigor unholy, I'll fight to my doom 'til I've vanquished the Christian god's ways.

Oh it must be such a different world to which those on the outside exist. At least I know who loves me here, no delusions, all weakness dismissed. An era of inhuman tragedy to be ushered by my iron hand. The oven's bellowed to crematory high to dispose of the god-fearing man.

The wind sings its sad lullab through a blackened and hollowed ribcage. I'm to die in battle, divine with the flames as my grave. This realm of inhuman carnage where the blood eternally rains. To my brothers who've fallen before me, I will walk with you again.

It talks about wars. All kind of wars. World war or war of religions. Great song. Great lyrics. Great album. Great band.

Intro Riff reminds me of Built for sin. The riff duuring the solo is pretty nice. lullaby is spelled wrong These lyrics don't include the first solo, maybe it should. The lyrics topic is a lot like I think it's about someone who has been brainwashed into fighting a war. I love the way they ended the CD even though this is one of the weakest songs on the Cd. I love hte breaking glass in the backgrounds.

I don['t know what I was thinking this song is awesome.

"t I think we made a statement with this album, a statement that we’re here—and here is fucking death.”

actually its a WWII Battle happening in the background at the end of this song. you can hear the clips of the M1 Garand shooting out.

My interpretation would be the war between the Norse and the Christians. Especially the part where he's talking about dying and walking with his fallen brothers. However, much of the lyrics could apply to any war. Maybe Trevor added the anti-Christian stuff in the lyrics to be more edgy.

This makes me think of the wars between the christians and the norse too. that's my interperatation. I also just have to say that it's a fucking insanely epic song. like, holy shit. so dramatic. perfect way to end the album. and I love how it builds up to the "i will walk with you again part" so dramatically. I love this song. very well orchestrated.

i think rather than talking about a specific war or a battle between 2 different religions it is about some kind of demonic army slaughtering their way across the world. it says "with a vigor unholy i fight to my doom" which implies that the soldier may be possesed.

This song screams World War II.

Hardened to stone through abuse, mocked, beaten and scorned...Hitler was abused as a child The ovens bellowed to crematory high to dispose of the god-fearing man- death camps for the Jews?

Song Meaning

the title says it all warborn. warborn is a term for children born in times of war the whole child being born and living through war can be seem in the lyrics "This, my demented playground"," born reared on the teat of my dear mother war","a bayonet severed umbilical cord". but not only is of a child who is born in war but its progression and how it grows up this can be seen in the lyrics"Hardened to stone through abuse, mocked, beaten, and scorned". Id say this applies to the middle eastern conflict for the soul reason that the child grows up and becomes and advocate of war to fight the enemy (america) the use of "vanquished the Christian god's ways."Americans are mostly composed of Christians and Catholics. yet even though war shapes one to become a monster "With glee I rape and torture, my pleasure is inflicting pain" one still yearns for a different life than what they live through a war plagued life'Oh it must be such a different world to which those on the outside exist".but inevitably war becomes home"At least I know who loves me here, no delusions, all weakness dismissed"

in my opinion it speaks volumes about the struggle of a warborn child
