Run-Away Lyrics
I could have told you why
It would have made me cry a little
I could have told you lies
It would have made me die a little
I could have told you anything
Except the truth which burns my middle
Run away that's what I did today
Run away there's nothing I could have said
You found another love
Someone to wipe away your tears
I left it all behind of me
Never to turn and face my fears
We may have fought with teeth and nails
I still recall your banking details
Run away that's what I did today
Run away there's nothing I could have said
those who cry and run away
Live to cry another day
Run away that's what I did today
Run away there's nothing I could have said
Run away that's what I did today
Run away there's nothing I could have said
Run away that's what I did today
Run away there's nothing I could have said
But cry a little
Lie a little
Die, just a little
It would have made me cry a little
I could have told you lies
It would have made me die a little
I could have told you anything
Except the truth which burns my middle
Run away there's nothing I could have said
Someone to wipe away your tears
I left it all behind of me
Never to turn and face my fears
We may have fought with teeth and nails
I still recall your banking details
Run away there's nothing I could have said
Live to cry another day
Run away there's nothing I could have said
Run away that's what I did today
Run away there's nothing I could have said
Run away that's what I did today
Run away there's nothing I could have said
But cry a little
Lie a little
Die, just a little

really. fucking. catchy.
I guess anyone considering running away might want to listen to this song. Its completely true though...for the most part those who are running away are just running away from their fears, contrary to facing them. It has a really catchy beat, but thinking about the lyrics is pretty sad.
This song has a personal meaning to me. I always thought SFA was a great band and I have come to love them (particularly Gruff Rhys) since I bought this album. Gruff has delivered the story very well with that voice he has. In my opinion, this song is more than fine because it's autobiographical!
this song kinda sounds like the shins' 'phantom limb.' both songs = very catchy = beastly quality. :P
I'm pretty sure the words in the chorus are "Run away, that's where I need to be." While what is listed above makes more sense, I think I'm right here. You can really hear it in the key change section.
Amazing song, catchy, well-written, classic SFA ballad material here. One of their finest and probably most underrated as well.
