March Of The Martyrs Lyrics
(Suffer. suffer. suffer.)
You will know
I will suffer
So you won't
You will know
I will suffer
So you don't
(like a human sacrifice,
We pay the price)
& it begins
Like this
Every time
[verse 1]
My heart starts reacting
My soul starts collapsing
I'm dancing in fire again
I'm burning & bleeding
The parasites are breeding
It's me versus me versus them
I am whore, holy, loved, lonely
Murdering the others now and then
I am barren, fruitful, bored but rarely useful
A sinner seeking manic martyrdom
[chorus]
The devil may care but i don't
No masters, no gods, no laws, no soul
I'm insignificant, i'm shiny & unique
I'm a freak, i'm a fuck-up, i'm suffering
[tunnel]
Touch. taste. feel.
Prick the skin
Push it in
Nothing will be wasted
All my hate
All my faith
The cloak becomes sacred
Prick the skin
Push it in
Nothing will be wasted
Touch.
Taste.
Feel.
And you will see
And you will know
We will heal ...
Everything.
[verse 2]
My heart starts collapsing
My soul starts reacting
I'm back in the fire again
I'm burning & bleeding
The parasites are feeding
It's me versus me & all of them
I am whore, holy, loved, lonely
Murdering the others i have been
I am barren, fruitful, bored but really useful
A sinner seeking manic martyrdom
[chorus]
The devil may care but i don't
No masters, no gods, no laws, no soul
I'm insignificant, i'm shiny & unique
I'm a freak, i'm a fuck-up, i'm martyring
[tunnel]
Prick the skin
Push it in
Nothing will be wasted
All my hate
All my faith
The cloak becomes sacred
Touch.
Taste.
Feel.
Prick the skin
Push it in
Nothing will be wasted
[bridge]
Bred for the slaughter
The march of the martyrs
Bred for the slaughter
The march of the martyrs
Bred for the slaughter
The march of the martyrs
Bred for the slaughter ..
[exodus]
You will know
I will suffer
So you don't

it is. Seems like many don't know or listen to this song based on the comments. I love the lines me vs me vs them and All my hate al my faith the cloak becomes sacred. I relate this to christianity where so many hold to the hate taught like a cloak because to release the hate would be to release their faith which would leave them as open and vulnerable to life as everyone else... Not all christians hate but so many do that its makes for a proper stereotype. Whats more, I have studied many religions and from my independent study it seems that jesus didn't actually teach hate and says in many places not to judge.. I kinda take the judgment most christians fling around to be in part because of how the religion was used as a power dominance early on. old habits die hard I suppose.
this sounds like a awsome song
Maybe it is the savior part of her, I am not sure.
But then again, to me, March of the MArtyrs reminds me of the witch hunts. People are supposed to learn from history, and the 'I will suffer so you don't'.
Makes me think of the fact 'If they learn, You won't suffer."
It's hard for me to figure out what this means for Me. The feel i get from it is a sadness, guilt, a bit of anger prehaps... a franticness. I very much so enjoy this song and would love to know what they were thinking when they wrote it. When she says "No masters, no gods, no laws, no soul" It seems almost like a rationalisation. Like the world would think she she has no master, no personal gods, goes by no laws, that she must also lack a soul. The song to me rings out like she's breaking away from conventual thinking. Prehaps it means once she had a faith but the laws or what not within it were so tight around her that she left it and now that comiunity looks down on her? "My heart starts collapsing My soul starts reacting I'm back in the fire again
I'm burning & bleeding The parasites are feeding It's me versus me & all of them" This section to me sounds as if prehaps she carries a guilt from the old religion, like prehaps if she had left christianity that she feels guilty for some things she may be doing and the burning part refers to hell? Prehaps she fights with herself to justify what she does? The continuous referance to martyrs could be that people are condemming her for what she believes now? I'm not sure anyways. I just like this song alot. Of course i came here looking to see what the real meaning is becuz where I am christian and I like to play my music loud i want to make sure that it's not something i shouldn't be listening to. It doesn't feel wrong and the song doesn't seem wrong at all... just making sure. It does indeed sound like suffering to me. Great song though :)
"I am whore, holy, loved, lonely Murdering the others i have been" A conridiction of self. She is more than she appears? Not just the sinner they all assume. "I am barren, fruitful, bored but really useful A sinner seeking manic martyrdom" Seeking something worth while? "The devil may care but i don't" The devil cares what you do, wishing you to Hell, but she doesn't do it for that rather than herself? "I'm insignificant, i'm shiny & unique I'm a freak, i'm a fuck-up, i'm suffering" Without something to put herself into she's falling apart with no purpose.. "Prick the skin Push it in Nothing will be wasted" Of her sacrifice nothing will be wasted? "All my hate All my faith The cloak becomes sacred" The cloak a blinding purpose? "Bred for the slaughter The march of the martyrs" *She was meant to do wrong to save others? Prehaps it's something other people can't do without punishment but to save something about their world or lives it must be done and she sacrifices herself to do it? You can kinda tell I'm just grasping at straws to have an answer for every line lol I think i need more time listening to this awesome song to really figure it out lol
