Where I Belong Lyrics
Hello there, how you doin'?
I've got all these thoughts just floating through my brain
They bump and they collide and cause a flurry of confusion and it's... gettin' on my nerves
I try to hold myself together
Fighting off this mental weather, when I can
(Sometimes I do)
But this shitstorm's never ending
And the atmospheric pressure's calling for rain
This is what I've got going on
This is where I belong tonight
It's chaos in the courthouse
And the left side's all upset because the right side wants a summer home and knows we can't afford it
I try to mediate between this constant Tug-O-War machine
But wind up in a never ending game of Telephone
There's so much going on
And I just need 7 minutes to calm myself back down
Now I forgot where I was
Was it me we were talking about?
This is what I feared from the start
I keep falling apart!
What's goin' on? Is this where I belong tonight?
(What's goin' on tonight?)
What's goin' on? Is this where I belong tonight?
(What's goin' on?)
(I can't stand)
I can't stand the thought of losing sentences and every island of words
(I can't stand)
I can't stand the thought of losing everything I ever thought that I knew
This is where I run out of words that describe how I'm so damn hurt
This is where I fumble and fold and take what I'm told
What's goin' on? Is this where I belong tonight?
(What's goin' on tonight?)
What's goin' on? Is this where I belong tonight?
(What's goin' on tonight?)
What's goin' on? Is this where I belong tonight?

this song has nothing to do with politics. It's about having an inner struggle with yourself. About having two different opinions on the same things. not being able to make up you're mind. its obvious in lines like "I try to hold myself together Fighting off this mental weather, when I can" the line about the court house, which is really the only half political thing he says in the whole song, is about the two halves of your brain arguing. Half of him wants a summer house but the other half knows he cannot afford it. And seven minutes is how long the average cigarette takes to smoke. It's all about being indecisive, which Justin makes obvious in nearly all of his songs.
Love the hell out of this song. I've never been able to relate to a song as much as I can relate to this one.
The way I see it, it's about a battle against yourself. Shit keeps going wrong, and you get to thinking, and you just get stuck. People try to help, but you're not really interested in their help because it's just creating more problems within yourself. It's like..like you're stuck in this traffic jam that exists in your mind, and you just wanna get the hell out. You want to fix the main thing that's keeping you lost in thought, but you just can't get it right and you get frustrated, and you just give in to the pressure.
Yeah, definitely my favorite song on the album. It's good shit.
Wow... MCS has totally done it again. I could not be more happy to be listening to their new CD right now... yay! The whole album is just so great.
ahhh me too so cute so sad
i love jp and his awsome hair
=D
Possibly about politics??
This makes me happy.
I think it fits with the message in Hello Helicopter, which is the track right before it.
i completely agree with titlenregistration great analysis!
and amazing song and cd!
whenever i hear someone say hello i start into "hello there how you doing...etc"...
This is where I run out of words that describe how I'm so damn hurt This is where I fumble and fold and take what I'm told
thats like giving up trying, giving up trying to express himself and just like giving up. and taking or accepting whatever the outcome is going to be, like hes tired of arguing.
I agree with you, titlenregistration. But I think there may be more to this song for some reason. It just seems like the songs on the new album might not be as simple as usual.
