I really love the insane alt at the end.

the ending is orgasmic

pretty straightforward lyrics, betrayal and a resulting broken heart.

I think it's an amazing song with a lot of symbolism. For instance, the mountain could be insurmountable pain. The soldier could be the man with whom she had her failed relationship.

Oh, and I too enjoy the frenetic, half-singing, half-shrieking at the end.

Does anyboby know how to interprete the lines

"The first tree will not blossom The second will not grow And the third is almost fallen"?

judging by pj's more recent work i think that the soldier should be interpreted more literally, this makes me think of a soldier wishing for freedom like the eagle because where he is everything is broken and wrecked, similar to 'hanging in the wire' in that way

Three trees---could it possibly be Oak, Ash, and (Haw)Thorn? These are three sacred trees in Druidic mythology, representing Underworld, Middleworld, and Upperworld, among other things.

There was already a reference to the "oak grove" in Grow, Grow, Grow. Just adds a little gothic/witchy flavor to this already dark album.

If you like the singing/shrieking at the ending, you'll probably like the song "Beautiful" by Darling Violetta.
