Cyanide, a deadly substance which kills you if consumed. The Sun, the planet that the solar system revolves around. His world revolves around the one he loves(the sun), whom loves him no more, which kills him(cyanide). In theory :]

This is fav HIM song now....lol..the whole album is great esp Bleed Well & Venus Doom ..but thats my opinion. xP

whats this song about? Well I dunnoo If I try look at it from Ville's perspective maybe about the break-up between Him (no pun intended..rofl) and jonna...or are they back together..shruggs

seems to be about a nasty break-up song and about cherishing the memories from that once loving relationship that two people shared.

this is my Favorite song on the Venus Doom album.

I think this song talks about a couple that's broken up but they truly love each other. Now the person that's singing this talks about emptiness being the constant companion in his life now and the only thing he has are the memories they've shared in the past.

But what does the cyanide sun itself symbolize?

Of all new songs, this is the one that stuck on me first, i simply love it! It is full of methaphores labyrinthine lies - like, you cannot find the way out of so many lies (in that bad relationship that he sings about) of fallen truths, the truest is you - she is the one that decieved him the most Too close to my heart, oh my love - but he still loves her, anyways

I guess Cyanide Sun is the sun whose light he cannot stand, it is killing him. Maybe it is other people's happiness, or just the cruel reality... i don't know, but that longing for one last caress, it sounds so well said - from the corps of love - the love is dead and he's lamenting on it...

Uh, such a sad song! I love it!!! And, the whole new album is GREAT!!!

i think the cyanide sun symbolizes something that is normally amazing, love (the sun), but at the same time its something more painful than death, heartache (cyanide)

i don't want to over-analyze this song, but in my opinion it clearly speaks (using a lot of classic him simbols and metaphores) of their breakup and how he's remembering all that happened between them and how he's now trying to deal with it... a very honest and sad song...

HIm's music can mean different things but its up 2 u 2 decide what it means and its different to some and same to others which is ok. what i like most about HIM is that every song in one way or another relates to me and im serious when i say that...DEAD serious

This is a beautiful song that touches my soul everytime I hear it. Mournfull, Hopeless, an Epic There is really no other way to describe it...

awwwww.... its about breaking up a long time ago and living in emptyness for the rest of hid life. the girl doesnt care about him but he still loves her, though he knows she will never love him again. but he's gotten used to the sadness already a longm time ago, but still wishes he could hold her in his arms for one last time, just pretend she still loves him (corpse of love thingy).
n taniushe ur right cyanide suns probably evryone elses happiness, very smart.

what I absolutely adore about him lyrics is that I can always find my own interpretation of them and thus relate to his songs.
