I think it's about finally finding your true love after years of waiting and making the wrong choices and taking the wrong path. Beautiful song.

I think this song is about someone who has realized what he or she has given up on... true love. "Oh I've been running all my life... I ran away from good." Finally, this person has this one chance to get this person back. He or she has really messed up and made some really bad decisions in the past with this person... and is ready to dedicate everything to mend all of the pain he or she has caused this person wholly. "Honey, I will stitch you."

I believe that this person is a bit jaded about love, but she has found this guy, I don't think its a old flame, I think its a new one, she "ran away from good" every time she found it since she was waiting for the one she wanted, and this guy came, "not a day too soon". She will be selfless and give everything to this guy cause she knows this is the one she was waiting for.

I enjoy the way she goes up in volume, like a way of celebration. A song that you can sing your heart out while driving!

I guess I agree with those who say this is a love song, from the perspective of someone who's had a lot of trouble dealing with relationships. She's never been in a healthy relationship, and therefore she's always feared she'd never find the right person. Now she can't believe she's finally found someone who really loves her and is good for her. She'd do anything to cast aside her trust issues and inhibitions to be with him but can't help but still worry she'll be hurt again. Very emotional and beautiful song.

I think it's about when two people meet who are meant for each other but both their hearts have been so damaged that fear tears them apart. Sia has recognized her fear and is ready to confront it but needs the other person to do the same. She's willing to stitch their heart up and not run away from them. "promise they won't track us down" has significant meaning for me. Ugh, I get tears in my eyes every time I hear this song.

I feel this song is about for all her life being in relationships that are good, but always knowing that something better, something more meaningful and great is out there. Running away from good because she wants to leave room for someone great, someone who makes all others feel insignificant - her twin flame. She will stitch them back into her heart and meet him there where they began and belong.

When reaching a good place, leaving no trace so they can’t be tracked down: this is in reference to the outside world always trying to impinge on something beautiful. I think is a metaphor for spiritually, mentally, and emotionally reaching a place that is impenetrable, safe, and reserved only for each other.

Not a day too soon: I think this is in reference to each of them needing to be evolved enough spiritually, emotionally and mentally to arrive with the ability to recognize the other and not pass each other by and miss the opportunity of a lifetime.
